Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about Helenius' condition and when he might be getting back in the ring. Thanks.
Showed total heart and a warriors mentality, even with one arm for almost the total fight he still never gave up. That's the sign of a winner, such great mental strength and will to win, this boy does not know how to lose. It shows a fantastic strength of character to win under such adversity. As the great Teddy Atlas famously likes to say "sometime you have to Gut it out! in order to win" and by golly Helenius certainly did just that against Chisora.
It was the ENTIRE fight with the torn labrum. He did it 6 weeks before and was unable to spar or lift during those last and most important weeks of camp. He fought MOST of the fight with 2 broken metacarpals. Well, all but 2 minutes of the fight. He landed a thudding shots to the top of Del Boys head, sending him reeling backwards, dazed badly according to Del himself. Unfortunately, the lone solid R hand happened to break the 3rd and 4th MCs. Fighters Fractures. I think a rematch with DelBoy would be ill advised until he knows if he can effectively throw a R hand. The judges, wherever the fight might be held, will not be giving him ANY close rounds after he was gifted the win in the last bout. IMO, if he's right, 85-100%, he should look for a fight with Sprott, Beck, or another gatekeeper type. Jumping back into bed with a bonafide contender would be a bad move without first seeing if he can go a few rds with his R hand/arm intact.:think
