It's beyond clear that Arum and Team Chavez don't like their chances against Martinez. Chavez is just hype.

I don't know, I think his recuperative abilities were awesome, but flush shots stunned him quit a bit but he's the type that fights through it and keeps throwing.

Exactly. They aint confident in chavez jr beating martinez until they know for sure martinez look like a decline fighter.

Martinez, from what Ive seen , is as basic as they come. Jab jab, left hand. He gives a lot of movement, but he doesn't put punches together. I dont know where your seeing 'tremendous athletic ability' :huh . He's an okay fighter, but I don't see anything special about him.

Wow, where to start? I guess, calling me a dumb **** really proves your argument. I knew you idiots would pop up.

Martinez's style is the same, he throws the same punches, reacts the same when crowded, and is susceptible to the same shots. (Look at the first Paul Williams fight) Having more experience means you've seen more things and react better, but that doesn't change your CORE style (in most cases), and his, is the same. :patsch

Once again, you bring this dumb **** up. This is hypothetical nonsense that has nothing to do with the conversation. I'm not even saying Jr. wipes the floor with Martinez, but those saying it's gonna be EZ work have not been paying much attention to Serg's fights recently and what his opponents have done that has given him noticeable problems.

In closing, you're calling me a dumb ****, but you're not really saying anything of value to rebut what I'm saying. This ain't a May/Pac debate, I'd appreciate an intelligent convo. :hi:

You're right in that styles wise, with his size, chin and pressure, Jr has more of a chance than what it first appears on paper.

However, how does Jr handle the speed, power, angles and southpaw stance of Martinez? Those are questions that I don't feel have been asked of Jr - certainly not at the level that Jr has fought at to date. Martinez is a totally new level of opponent for him. If there are fights that he's had where this may have been the case, I'd love to see them.

I make Martinez a warm favorite, should the fight happen (I said earlier I'm skeptical about the fight coming off, despite Freddie's link).

    :good

Ok, I see you're not trying to have any semblance of a conversation.

But seriously, are you trying to get me to defend and or explain the actions of that slimeball Arum? You gotta be kidding me.

I think Chavez is much better than most here but in reality I doubt he even beats Macklin let alone Sergio, Macklin has fought and beat far better opposition than JCC Jr. JC Jr gets ****ed up by Sergio 10/10 but it don't matter cause the fight will never happen, Chavez will keep fighting cans until one of them upsets him.

why u dont ask chavez. Chavez isnt anything special either. I was talking about matching Martinez up with Floyd. Martinez would probably beat Chavez.

You're right, Chavez Jr. has never been in there with someone like Martinez. Depending on how Julio adjusts to that speed or those angles (or doesn't) makes this fight interesting.

Not just arum u dumb f4ck, its the entired team of chavez jr and chavez himself who doesnt have the b4lls to fight martinez. If martinez is the same fighter that fought margarito then dont u think team chavez would have told arum already to make chavez jr vs martinez a reality?
