it was considered a pick em fight in the bookies i believe anyone who knew anything about boxing knew lewis would win though
I remember back in Sydney everybody knew Tyson had no chance and was basically washed up. People just wanted to see him be punished for being a ******.
People who had a clue knew Tyson only had a punchers chance, and even that was minimal. But there was a lot of nostalgic people who still thought Mike could turn back the clock and beat the best HW he stepped in a ring with. Both were past their best (Tyson more so) but the fight needed to happen or we would still be hearing Lewis never fought him, Lewis is a coward etc etc. It was an easy nights work for an ageing Lewis against an old Tyson.
Younger in age, older in ring years. Tyson's pro career started over four years before Lewis', add that to the fact that Tyson's peak was much earlier, and it becomes plainly apparent that Lewis was at a much better place in his career at that point. There was always this niggling doubt about Lewis' chin when he was competing, which in retrospect I think was massively overblown. Having rewatched his career since he retired it is clear that he had a very good chin, but was prone to lapses in concentration, which can be devastating at HW as Lewis found out. Dor that reason a lot of people that I spoke to felt that Tyson had enough power to make it a very dangerous fight, even at that stage....but in reality it wasn't so.

As mentioned, everyone knew Lewis would win but alot of people saw what Rahman did to Lewis in their first fight and thought Mike could potentially do the same.
