7-5 Leonard Close fight, I could even see a draw, a Hagler win is a bit harsh on Leonard if you judge what actually happened tho. 1. SRL 2. SRL 3. SRL 4. SRL 5. MMH 6. SRL 7. MMH 8. MMH 9. MMH 10. MMH 11. SRL 12. SRL I gave SRL more close rounds... 3,6 & 12.... I gave Hagler close rounds 9 & 10... but I also thought Leonard won more clearer rounds than Hagler... 1, 2, 4 & 11... Hagler clearly won rounds 7 & 8. All in all, a close Leonard win is spot on, only 1 judge had his head out of his ass that night but thankfully it never amounted to the wrong man getting the verdict. :good
The fact the ring was the size of a football pitch, should be brought up more by the Hagler men than the totally overplayed flurries\posturing line of argument. A smaller ring and Hagler wins, with Leonard stuck on the ropes for much of the 2nd half. Hagler just got totally played in the negotiations for this one by Ray.
Not only a big ring , but also thick gloves , 12 rds instead of 15 and who knows what more , maybe i even forgot some things . Hagler > Leonard at least on a h2h sense if not on a p4p sense as well .
I'm surprised Leonard didn't get to choose the color of Marvin's trunks for him. He got everyhing else he wanted/demanded.
IF i was Hagler, i would of said 15 Rounds, small ring And small gloves - or NO DEAL Mr.Sugar. :deal ALL those things should be up to teh CHAMPION to decide. :deal
Yeah but Haglers camp was so confident along with everyone else that Ray had NO chance that those things didn't matter to them.
117-112 Leonard...just scored it on Monday Leonard/Hagler 1.10-9 2.10-9 3.10-9 4.10-9 5.9-10 6.10-9 7.9-10 8.10-10 9.9-10 10.10-9 11.10-9 12.10-9
I agree with everything except rounds 8 & 10... round 10 was very close but I gave it to Hagler... round 8 was as clear as day for Hagler IMO. Either way, we have the same winner.
Ok, so your're not scoring flashy flurries, cool. But Hagler was really hurting Leonard by just staring at him, clearly a victory for Marvin.
7-5 Hagler. A fight that highlights a fundamental divide in the scoring tendencies of followers of the sport; tendencies that'll never be happily reconciled.
The fact that you didn't give Hagler round 8, pretty much destroys all credibility of this scorecard. We're you one of the blinded judges that night? Honestly?
