No, but they are world class boxers, at the top of the divisions. Proksa is still working his way up and his career has just now finally started to pick up a bit of steam. Not fair to write him completely off because of one **** performance. He has looked promising and shown lots of talent thus far, which is why he was hyped. If he does just as bad in the rematch, and then even in the fight after, then I will make those types of judgements if need be. But not after one ****ing fight. It's not like he was borderline and unimpressive till now. This is evidenced by how shocked everyone was with his poor performance that night. Because nobody expected it, from a TALENTED fighter like Proksa.

 

The cut excuse is as bad as Haye's toe one, Pole's hyped up Proksa to be the man to beat Martinez yet he lost to a journeyman.

 

It's not about the loss for me, it's about what his performance revealed about him as a fighter. If say he was winning and dominating the fight and got KO'd by a lucky punch then yea, it's not right to write him off but this is different.

He should stick to eastern european trainers to stay fit and focused. I he went to the USA he would just become lazy and fat.

I'm not defending his performance. But I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, based on what I have seen from him consistently to this point, that he truly had a **** night. From the interviews with him since the fight, the tactic completely went out the window, he seemed to be going for the KO for the rest of the fight, and there was huge confusion in the corner, and a lack of a good trainer to tell him what he needed to hear, and a deep cut that was dumping blood into his eye from round 2, for the rest of the fight. I'll take it he had a **** night, and a tough going, and see how he does for the rematch before I make any brash judgements.

There are many things he still needs to improve, you can just tell from watching him he needs a bit more discipline. He needs to dedicate himself fully to this sport. And like yogster said, he has so much **** going on on the side, that I doubt it allows him to do it. From running his own boxing gym, to his banking job, to fighting.. Just seems like too much.

 

It's not just little things that can be quickly changed or improved upon, it's neither the gameplan or the tactics, you can see that he is severely lacking in very important fundamental areas. He has absolutely no jab that alone is terrible, also his whole style just seems wrong for him, while he does have pretty decent speed and power, he isn't lightning quick and that hands down style is a suicide for him, fighters like Haye, Martinez and Calzaghe could do it because of their tramendous athleticism and reaction speed, Proksa while having decent speed does not seem to posses those qualities, his defense is completely based on head movement which clearly doesn't work for him, he frequently gets caught.

His stamina is horrible, that can be improved upon probably, his chin doesn't seem to be great. Also, no composure whatsoever, throws wild shots all the time that set him completely off balance. I dunno man, just so many flaws that I can see and I am just a casual fan, I really cannot see him beating top MWs, imagine what Lee would have done to him with his jab, it'd have been a KO, early.

 

Congratulations. But that doesn't change the fact that you are a piece of ****. And who said I'm a Pole?
