Had you been following the posts you would have seen the post I was responding to implied if you use diuretics to cheat then you would also use roids. You never heard that weed is a 'gateway drug' and leads to heroin use? Hence the reference. A does not mean B HAS to be true.

So figher A wanted a way out, right?

Martinez is the one who agreed to Chavez's terms on everything else. This wasn't a matter of the two sides reaching agreements or compromises on everything and then this drug testing demand coming up out of thin air, it was Martinez letting Chavez run the show as long he agrees to get tested.

It surely is. Do you agree that he's scared or looking for a way out of the fight by asking for this?

Why the **** would I agree to that? I have no idea WHY he's asked for it.

So, now you were in on negotiations and know what was what do you? Or are you simply taking Martinez's press report as the holy gospel?

It makes NO difference who ran the show, who got what. That is all smoke screen. Martinez pursued and demanded the fight and now is saying he won't accept it over a demand that he has no reasonable right to expect would be enforced because it is not in any of the governing rules of the WBC. This is simple. By definition, Martinez has left himself an out. If he doesn't take the fight after he admitted that all other terms were agreed to, it is on him. Period.

Why he asked for it isn't the point. If he uses this as an excuse to kill the fight, then it is what it is.

Hermit do u realize that Mayweather vs Cotto, Berto vs Ortiz rematch, Khan (with Freddie Roach in his corner btw) vs Peterson rematch are all doing the same drug testing that Chavez Jr refuse? If Martinez agree to a very small split then Chavez Jr should man up and agree to the testing. Chavez Jr cheated once so lets see if he's clean this time.

It doesn't take an insider or a genius to realize that DiBella and Arum have not been hammering out details all week.

Why is the mere presence or absence of something in the rules of the WBC the sole factor in determining whether a demand is reasonable or not, especially when the drug testing request did not materialize out of thin air? I simply don't see how it looks worse or is more unreasonable for Martinez request that a fighter with a shady history to have additional drug testing than it is for the fighter in question to reject such tests (especially since poor Chavez himself whined about his name being dragged through the mud after the Rubio fight).

Thanks. I'm really just trying to stay on point here. I was pretty much floored by this one. I never expected Jr to step up and face Sergio. Then to have Sergio say no? :patsch

So, show me the WBC rules that require it. This is getting old. I've laid it all out. When you call someone out then expect to play by his rules or don't call him out.
