Then again, i wouldn't call him too greedy at all, he only wanted $400k to train Holyfield for Moorer I, but Holy, who was receiving a $12mill purse thought a 3.33% cut was too much to give Manny... the only man who could've ever allowed him to beat a Prime Bowe. Yet the same Evander was throwing away a tenfold percentage of 33% to some crazy Christian-Fundamentalist preacher in the '90s... & thought MC Hammer was a good manager. :nut

Ok... I tailed off track there for a while. My comparison point was that Giachetti twice recieved $1mill paychecks for training Iron Mike for the two Ruddock fights in '91, for which Tyson's purse was around $17mill each time... although Kriminal King never paid him for those fights, but that's another story. Point is, taking into account the decreasing purchasing power of money, I reckon offering Manny $2mill of his $50mill purse would've been wholly adequate.

A nice trip down memory lane too, i remember Holyfield acting like an idiot with Manny which was ridiculous and perplexing. I mean surely he showed his worth to him in Bowe 2. Strange decision from Holyfield and Manny was hurt by it and lost some respect for him.

Yes 2 mil from 50 mil woulda been cool for both Manny and Lennox, but personally IF it were true, i think the lure of training one of his best students again would of been just as enticing. No.

Then you should not have retired and proved yourself better then Vitali which you did not the first time you fought him.

He beat you from ring post to ring post, smacking you about like a human pinata and arguably won every round and every minute of the fight. The unbiased fans will never forget this.

 

Lewis is so phony. That was hilarious when Rahman ragdolled him at that presser/interview before their second fight. Lewis got whached around the ring and outboxed by a better fighter and human being in Klitschko, only showing his desire for redemption through interviews while making outrageous financial demands.

It perplexes me too... maybe Holy just got too big headed (metaphorically, not physically! ) from beating the Big Daddy & thought he only needed himself to beat everyone... kinda like Tyson after Spinks in a way. Although, after a painful dose of reality, shoulder & heart complications... he hired Tommy Brooks, which worked out well for him. I reckon he was too ashamed of himself to ask Manny to take him back.

Well Cus hated Richie, so I always wondered why Tyson would choose him. In reality, I think King forced Giachetti onto Mike, after he saw what just being "trained" by his homies Snowell & Bright lead to. At least the man got Mike supremely conditioned physically & mentally for war, & got him to throw vicious bodyshots in significant numbers again. Although, he certainly didn't give two shits about Tyson's defensive skills, because he was still about as elusive as a fish in a barrel. Hey don't get me wrong bro, Giachetti was only worth maybe a tenth of that at most, but I was just using it as an example of huge trainer paydays. I mean $1mill is 5.88% of $17mill, whereas the $2mill i proposed is a closely comparable, but relatively smaller 4% of $50mill. Perhaps a lower 3.33% would've been fine, if that was his going rate.

Yeah :good, but a generous cash incentive is a vital component to Steward's compliance, if he really was unwilling to train Lennox again.

The truth hurts.

The heavyweight division is a circus show. How any champ in the division can be mentioned on a P4P list is beyond me. The champs win by pure size advantages since they fight cruiserweights, isn't that the opposite of P4P skill?

 

The Klitschkos are both greedy. If they wanted to, they could have had Chisora/Vitali and Wlad/Mormeck on the same night. That would have been much better for the fans but instead, they took home two lots of money from ticket sales and in return, they gave the fans one terrible mismatch and not a single good undercard fight on two cards.

It's simply wrong. And before any Klitschko fan defends them, it is you who should be far more annoyed than I am.
