Can't really count the fight with pac or canelo, even counting the mayweather fight is debatable, Mosley is a level above those guys but i get what you mean
I liked Malinaggi since i first saw him fight before he ever was on HBO or anything like that He showed heart vs Cotto and gave Cotto one of his hardest nights at 140 He eventually dominated for a belt and defended it a few times i cant remember how he lost the title my memory needs to be refreshed then his career took some interesting turns loss to Hatton the Diaz series getting blasted by Khan now he will go to Ukraine to fight a relatively unknown beltholder in order to regain something in boxing i liked Malinaggi because what he lacked in power he made up for in skill and heart and could be flashy while doing it he also took on all comers and dangerous opponents strikes against him that i see from most fans are usually they dont like his low KO percentage dont like his appearance or that he has a loud mouth
Unless he wins this title and goes on a tear, he will obviously not be in the HOF... BUT- he is GREAT for boxing. He is like a true life 'lil mac' from punch out. He has no pop and has shown that with enough determination you can still make it. work at something hard enough and you can break through anyways. Roy jones was destined for greatness at birth. God given talent and the perfect boxing toolset. Malignaggi had to/has to work at it and become a scholar of the sweet science. Its just a refreshing scenario to me.
Forever a B level fighter. His whole game is slickness and he stills gets caught, but has a great jaw. He's quick but not the fastest in his division. He has no power and brittle hands. Good personality that brings a little flavor into boxing but that's it. At least he can say he held a title and fought some of the better fighters of his generation.
This content is protected Paulie has some Irish in him cuz he ain't packin' no footlong Spicy Italian, namsayin'? :hey
Good fighter, lots of heart. Shouold probably stick to 140. He's not slick enough to avoid damage, nor does he carry a pop to keep the other guy honest. Needs to fight Judah BTW!
Exactly. I think he is niether over, nor under-rated on ESB. He's generally regarded as an upper echelon, but not quite premier fighter with some good skills and a few flaws.
