Was Haye a legit HW or just a blown up CW?

Haye was expected to ice Wlad. Stylistic nighmare, we were told. After all, Sanders flattened the younger Klitschko, and Haye was so much more better. Faster, better power, shows up in shape, goes to the gym and not the golf green.

And we all know what happened. Haye was outsmarted and outboxed in a chessgame many found boring, but some purist/hard core fans were fascinated by.

After that, Haye was written of as a blown up CW. Not really a good win. In fact, Wlads best opponent were a fat Sam Peter.

I agree that this era is somewhat weak. Wlad has not many A-class wins, so how his victory over Haye is labeled means much for his resume. And since Hayes talent his hard to dispute, it boils down to this:

Was he a legit HW or not?

 

he looked blown to me. he couldnt duplicate what he did at cruiser as a hw

 

Don't think he had the chin to be a legit heavyweight, which was why he was so tentative against Valuev, Harrison and Wlad. I'd say he was in-between

 

The biggest issue with Haye at heavyweight was his mentality. He should have fought the same as he did at cruiser but instead, he started to fight like he was up against guys far too big for him which wasn't the case. It's the same with Adamek. He went from being a good offensive fighter into being forced to run, even against garbage opposition. Why? A fighter should fight the way they know how and it would be far more effective.

 

Wasn't he struggling to make CW? Didn't his body need to make the move up?

In which case, no, he's not a blown-up CW. It may appear that way compared to these other ridiculously big HWs, but really, I look at him and see what an athletic, reasonably sized HW should be like.

Haye was supposed to embarrass Wladimir and knock him brutally out according to Brittards.

Now after Wladimir mopped the floor with Haye it's a **** win for Wlad and we hear the same old excuses from delusional, butthurt Brittards who know **** about boxing.

 

He did OK, he never looked overweight or declined just he is not
as good to beat Klitchkos.

AND he did EXACTLY the same as he did at CW, he beat a bunch
of old timers and somehow cleaned out the rusty side of HW.

To remember he never beat the best at Cruiser in Cunningham and Adamek
same as he never beat the best at HW in Klits, Povetkin and Adamek.
He just made some noise and left out the scene.

 

I agree with this. He seemed like a rangy HW with respectable power to me. At CW, his eyes looked like they were about to pop out of his skull.

 

Cool. Because that makes up for his mentall weakness about his chin? No. Wlad's jab, height and reach give him a sense of security for his chinny ways, haye doesn't. Now get of my back
