Kessler is a natural Super middleweight, and there's plenty of fights for him in 168. Fights for LWH: Green, Cloud, Pascal, Bhop, Dawson, Cleverly and Shumenov Fights for SMW: Dirrell brothers, Ward 2, Froch 2, Bute, Groves and Degale Better fights at SMW. Kessler needs more A-level W's. Right now he only has Carl Froch as A-level W :deal
Better but not bigger names, dirrell brothers bring nothing, groves and degale also brings next to nothing, leaving froch bute and ward, one fight is a 50/50 and the other two are near certain losses If he goes up to 175, he could beat green cleverly and shumenov, could also give pascal cloud and bhop problems, going to 175 will make him more money, so why not?
I would certainly not say that Bute is a certain loss. I think Kessler would have 50% .. at least. Right now we can hardly give Bute a higher percentage when he has never fought at top level. After the Froch fight perhaps we can... or not. At least we will know more. I will give Kessler 50 or a bit more against Froch. About 50 against Bute. About 25% agaisnt Ward.

Saurland failed to find Kessler a SMW to fight him in may in Copenhagen, so why not move up to LHW and beat up Green??
