You can't prove that Floyd doesn't want to fight Martinez. All the evidence points towards the fight as a possibility. There isn't even any evidence for your point. What we're now stuck with is your opinion. An opinion coming from someone that can't see why Martinez is greater than '06 margo.

The rumor mill regarding a potential Floyd Mayweather - Sergio Martinez fight has been buzzing for about one week, but not Martinez himself has commented on the probability of the fight taking place.

During an audio interview with Spanish media outlet Cadena SER, the middleweight champion made very specific comments regarding the speculated Mayweather fight.

Dialogue:

(Radio Host) : Well Sergio we’re going to be waiting on the negotations for... for... this guy I can’t remember his name.

(Co-host chimes in): Mayweather.

(Sergio Martinez): All you have to do is wait a few weeks and I’m sure... I’m sure that it’ll happen, I’m sure of it. In 2012 it happens.

Martinez also conceded that Manny Pacquiao is the #1 fighter in the world, and he would be willing to fight the Filipino sensation at 68 kilos (roughly 150 pounds).

“One morning I woke up and I weight 150 pounds,” said Martinez. “From then I told everyone I could fight Mayweather and Pacquiao at lower fights.”

A promotional career is also in the works for Martinez.

“I am going to have my own gym, logo, and company,” said Martinez. “I am going to study boxers, and help them avoid the difficult path I took to success. They will work hard, but so will I.”


I hope you can get your head sorted out on whether you want to believe or not believe what Floyd says, but there's Martinez talking. Go on and selectively ignore what he said though because you don't like the possibility of a Mayweather-Martinez fight.
