I agree he didnt NEED Cotto, but you are the one making it seem like he was the one persuing the fights and people didnt want to fight him, and thats bull**** dude.
I also agree he was in a position of too much power....and he used it to avoid fights

ask manny pacquiao. Getting a career high payday still wasn't good enough for him. He'll be needing funds soon to payoff his defense team and accountants involved with his legal troubles.

    ok let's put hatton in.

let's put him for both floyd and pacquiao since hatton is only 30 and si the same age as pac when they fought at 140, hatton's best weight.

pacquiao's recent opponent's at their prime or near their peak:

    1. bradley
    2. clotttey
    3. cotto
    4. hatton

floyd recent opponent's at their prime or near their peak:
    1. ortiz
    2. hatton

    anymore?

But Cotto admitted he NEVER told his promoter to pursue a Floyd fight. So is this still Floyd's fault?

I just name dropped and told you the people who did want to fight him in that very same post. Do fighters including Mayweather get selective and avoid fights once they "made it"? Yep. Just Cotto(e) is most defly not someone Floyd avoided.

cotto has just turned 29 and was still near his prime when pac fought him. you are ******ed if you don't think so. clottey is still near his peak at age 31. so if you think they are not near their prime/peak, what can you say about pac when he fought them at age 31 and 32 when pac already has 16 years of professional ring age?

I honestly dont remember Cotto ever telling his promoter to persue a fight with anyone.
But when asked about it he clearly stated that he will fight Mayweather. Back when all the demand was for a Mayweather Cotto fight, Cotto's response was "lets get it on"
Mayweathers response was "Im not gonna let boxing retire me, im gonna retire from boxing" "Im not thinking about Miguel Cotto"

also remember at the time ellerbe's excuse that cotto was not even a draw so why would floyd fight him?

Ok, so he said it, it must have been true??:rofl:rofl

I guess Cotto would never say something that was a lie, being the saint he is.

Get real, man. When they were both at 140, Floyd tried to fight him, but Arum said no.

Floyd was never obligated to fight Cotto, and Cotto was too much of a stooge to step up and tell his promoter to make an offer. End of story.

You did, you names Shane and Margarito. He fought Shane, I give you that.
Margarito? He had the same bs excuses and avoided that fight.
I see it differently regarding Cotto bro, I think it was clear back then that he wasnt thrilled about that fight (for whatever reason)
Why else would "Im gonna retire from boxing, im not gonna let boxing retire me" even come out his mouth. Like, what exactly made him say that?
