A couple years ago I had it 6 rounds to 4 in favor of charles. here is my old scorecard Round 1 Johnson Round 2 Charles Round 3 Charles Round 4 Charles Round 5 johnson Round 6 johnson Round 7 Charles Round 8 Johnson Round 9 Charles Round 10 Charles- johnson knocked down from Charles's right hand, incorrectley ruled a slip. my total ezzard charles 6-4 in rounds or 96-93 counting the knockdown. Now that was my old scorecard, I plan on re-scoring it in a few days. What is your scorecard?
I don't have a RBR scorecard, but I always thought Johnson won that fight clearly. He landed the cleaner, sharper punches and appeared to stagger Charles in a number of rounds. I agreed with the one judge who had Johnson ahead by a fair margin.
Wow, looks like one of us needs to get there eyes checked. I seem to remember charles landing the cleaner sharper punches, he outlanded johnson in power punches from what I saw and floored johnson in round 10. Charles also seemed to control ring generalship dictating the fight. Johnson scored well with jabs, but charles evened it up with shots to the body.
98-94 Johnson Charles: rounds 3 and 7. Johnson: rounds 1,2,5,6,8 and 10. Round 4 being even. Had the knockdown in the 10th been counted for Charles, then it becomes a 10-9 round for Charles, making Johnson a 2 point winner on my card. As far as I'm concerned, Johnson simply landed too much. Charles would occasionally land a real good, heavy blow, but he was getting too badly outboxed in the meanwhile. The effect of Charles' blows were not superior enough to outweigh the work done by Harold. If you score this fight for Charles then you should score DLH-Mosley II for Shane Suze.
What about all the times that Johnson staggered/shook Charles, though? How does that fit into your assessment? I just re-watched the first three rounds, and IMO they go clearly to Johnson. He clearly staggered Charles in round 1, wobbled him twice in round 2, and made him sag with a body shot toward the end of round 3. He did more than just work his jab in those rounds, he scored well with sneak/counter rights and uppercuts.
We need some more scorecards, I strongly disagree with both of you. looks like I will have to do a round by round assessment
I have about Q's scorecards mostly. Give or take a round. I felt Charles won a close, but CLEAR fight, dont recall Charles being stagger. Going to have to rewatch it to know for sure.
I can't remember the scorcard but has I know I had Charles winning by 2 points the knockdown should have been scored.
Yeah 4-3 including yourself. Honestly I think you're just a bad troll. Can't be arsed wasting any more time on you.
because I disagree with you? because I backed up what I said? You questioned why I thought more people who watch the film thought charles won. Its here. Its not trolling at all. You disagree thats ok. I am not labeling you at all am I ?
I think this is one of the fights that shows charles's decline. Prime for prime he'd have actually beaten johnson.
