Would Lennox Lewis become the greatest of all time if he came back and beat Wladimir?

I would still probably say no, but I would see him as a lock for a top 3 slot.

on any given day i have him or Holmes 3 or 4 :huh

It would be close to a decade of being retired if he came back and fought Wlad and at 47-48 it would surely be the biggest achievement in the sport.

But still, i don't think i could put him no1 over Ali.

    Plus it wouldn't happen.

He would be #2 or #3.

This. I already have him at #4. I would probably bump him up to #2.

If he were to continue fighting after his Wlad win and notched a few more title defenses then I would bump him to #1.

He would be the oldest HW champion in history if he did pull off the win.

At the very least it would firmly put him in the #1 position H2h, not sure about legacy.

Arguments can be made that he should be number 3 but I can't rate him above Muhammad Ali or Joe Louis.

I have him at #7 now.

Surprised to see so many people have him so high.

    Me too.

I have him at #8. If Lewis were to beat Wlad it would say a lot more about Wlad and the current state of the division than it does for Lewis.

Also, what does your Top 10 look like?

I have Lennox at no.3. Coming back and beating Wlad would pretty much keep him there forever. Depending on the manner of victory, it could make me so fond of him that I could feasibly put him in that level in the no.1 claim but I couldn't see me guaranteeing him a ranking above the two consensus 'greatest' at the weight.

If he beat Wlad and Viali then I think so.

I have Lewis around 4-6 but I always seem to change my mind when I do my top 10 heavyweights

    1. Ali
    2. Louis
    3. Foreman
    4. Lewis
    5. Holmes
    6. Marciano
    7. Johnson
    8. Frazier
    9. Holyfield
    10. Too much choice

Yer I have him relatively high up and like you say, beating wlad would no doubt keep him at least top 3. However unless he were to beat Vitali aswell I don't think he has a chance of going over Ali maybe Louis.
