pavlik vs arthur abraham

I always wanted to see this one! Its actually perfect because I think Arthur wants to move back to 160.

AA isn't making 160 anymore. Sauerland has him up against Stieglitz once Groves is gone by way of SES/German decision.


This fight isn't happening. Pavlik wants Junior, Martinez, etc. Abraham is after Stieglitz, Kessler, hell even Degale when he beats Sanavia.

 

Abraham said he's thinking about moving back down to 160.. This was a while back. I guess he changed his mind..

i would actually like to see this fight.

 

Pavlik was ALWAYS a bad style matchup for AA who would have spent way too much time behind his guard and been his usual boring ass self against Kelly.

 

I am still waiting to see how Pavlik comes back, but I think he will still beat Abraham. Never wanted to see this fight that much actually I was more interested in Pwill vs Pavlik.

The fight I am hyped about now for Pavlik is Chavez then Martinez.

Always thought Pavlik matchedup very poorly against Abraham.
Froch could move and box and stay out of Abrahams reach.
Pavlik does not move at all and stays at midrange where he can deliver his combos and hooks and often comes in close.

Pavlik also tends to block punches with his face and as we saw in the Taylor bout he can get hurt pretty badly (does anyone really think Taylor hits harder than Abraham?)
This means Abraham has a full 12 rounds to connect something very hard vs someone right in his range with very poor defense.

Even IF Abraham turtlesup the entire time that Pavlik keeps throwing AA has shown to have a granite chin + at some point Pavlik will stop throwing and that bomb will land.

Poor matchup for Pavlik before and even right now with AA being low on confidence and not boxing as well anymore its still a poor matchup right now.
No matter how much Hermit and Booradly will talk him up.

This said though i think currently Pavlik would do better against more fighters than AA would, just against eachother Pavlik matchesup poorly.
Pavlik actually has the tools to win this with his jab and 1,2 but he would have to fight very smart keep circling and use his reach and when has he ever done this?
