Gary Buckland vs. Paul Truscott RBR

Round 3

Buckland is ripping to the body. Quick triple jabs up in the face of Truscott. Lots of quick powerful punches by Buckland with constant forward motion. Truscott backs up and tries to line up a counter 1-2, but lacks the nerve to stay anchored long enough to turn into it. Buckland is hunting down low, hooking on the belt line. They trade close quarters uppercuts as Buckland backs the challenger up across the ring.

Round 4

Truscott circles left and floats his jab, now right. Buckland is marching in and slapping with big powerful hooks. Rights over the top. Truscott is looking fragile, dancing around the perimeter. Body shots by Buckland. Truscott ducks a right hand and slides back. Truscott tries some jabs and Buckland hooks up at him to get him backing up. Quick double jab by Buckland lands, but the overhand right misses. Truscott circles away and jabs, folding himself up and looking a bit cut down to size. Truscott unrolls a lazy jab and Buckland slams over it with a right hand. Soft uppercut by Truscott, whipped around to land again as an overhand but having no effect. Buckland sticks a few jabs through the guard, and then grinds into Truscott.

Round 5

Truscott jabs and moves in, leaning against Buckland and holding his arms pinned. Uppercuts up close by Truscott, nothing on them. Hooks to the body by Buckland. Good 1-2 by Buckland backing into range. Chopping 1-2 by Truscott, countered by a Buckland left hook. Busy work to the body by Buckland. Truscott circles left and misses four consecutive jabs. Buckland keeps grinding into him, lending no quarter.

Round 6

Truscott is circling tentatively by the ropes, poking out with a weak 1-2 as Buckland bores into his midsection, hunkered low and working both hands to the body. Hooks by Buckland. Uppercut by Truscott off the ropes. Buckland lets a few Truscott jabs deflect off his upper arms as he holds them outstretched, then goes back to the body. Big left hook by Buckland clips Truscott backing up. Truscott tries to wrap his gloves around the back of Buckland's head but gets thumped in the middle.

Round 7

Uppercuts by Buckland, grunting along with each punch as he throws. Truscott is backed up to the ropes and turns side to side while getting hit. Truscott is just covering up and barely countering. A couple of low-reaching hooks by Truscott but Buckland answers back with his own, putting full leverage into them with both hands. Big uppercut by Buckland. Body shots by Buckland.

Round 8

Jab and overhand by Buckland, driving Truscott back. Flush left hook by Buckland, sends sweat flying off the head of Truscott. Buckland muscles him into the ropes and tees off. Truscott shoves him away. Buckland is back on him like a powerfully attracted magnet. Body shots. Truscott is consistently pushed to the ropes and jabbed in the face, with right hands flying up and pressing his gloves against his face. Body shots nonstop by Buckland. Truscott is getting a few soft uppercuts in but is mostly stifled on the back foot.
