Was Mepranum meant to be on the undercard? Badass of both fighters - Marquez rematching a guy who beat him at such short notice and Richie stepping up and taking this opportunity.
Bit of an odd move from Marquez could be a stupid one. Mayol and Mepranum aren't that much a like at all. Mepranum ruined Marquez original coming out party but he has improved a lot since then. Seem to remember Marquez just trying to land one big one in that fight but couldn't pin him down. Might back fire but I doubt it. Good fight though made on short notice. Still pissed the Mayol fight isn't happening.
Good fight. Mepranum was scheduled to face a 20 year old Mexican prospect who had a 20-1 (16 KO) record on the undercard. After Mepranum beat Marquez, he was stopped by Julio Cesar Miranda in 5, also in Mexico. It might be the right time for Tyson to beat his first conqueror, with a weight advantage and confidence on his side.
