Was talking to a mate who knows joel reddy. He asked reddy why he left parra. Joels answer " im the wrong color". The inference being that kearney favors islanders. Hmm, might be bs, might be something in it??

Sense that the players arent too tight anyway.

 

Slater is the best FB i have seen but he has Cronk and smith executing plays that have led to alot of his good stuff.

In 2008 Brett Stewart was the best Fullback, Hayne ruled 2009 and Slater has taken 2010, 11 and most probably this year.

 

yet every year you mention, Slater was still the test fullback & golden boot winner in 2008, the only reason Hayne & Stewart were mentioned in those years was because they got to be about as half as good as Billy Slater

 

They were better than Slater in those years, not by much but were still better. Stewart was phenomenal in 2008 and one of the main reason Manly smoked everyone. Hayne was the plane in 09 and probably the single reason they got to the GF.

Slater can thank the many stars around him aswell his entire career.

Yeah that's true, but the Stewart v Slater 08 has been done a feair few times on many NRL Forums. It's split quite evenly.

Darius Boyd could take the 2010 Best Fullback Award, he was in pretty good form then.

Interesting to hear that Slater has completed the past 8 seasons with 20 more more games. Wowsers

 

I agree that Hayne had a better 2009 than Slater, but Stewart has never had a better season than Slater.
In fact, living so far back in Slaters shadow, caused him to go rapey.

 

That's interesting. I suggested as much to a mate after burt was dropped. Looking at todays article about players to the get the tap on the shoulder - they're all white boys and funnily enough have hardly played FG this year so i dunno how sacking them is gonna help.
