Froch says he has a better legacy then cazaghe

can anyone yet point out the qualifications of the following fighters at 168 and why they are great names to have on froch's resume

- pascal (never beat anyone of any note at 168)
- taylor (never beat anyone of note at 168 and brutally ko'd by abraham and froch)
- dirrell (only has a disqualified win v 160 fighter abraham to his name)
- abraham (one win against taylor and then losses to dirrell and ward)
- johnson (a complete and utter joke at 168 with more losses than wins)

 

I never said it's cowardice or anything of that sort. I just said that his record is **** poor and isn't even HOF worthy.

Hopkins proved his self WAY before fighting Calzaghe. That's a past it Hopkins competing with top fighters because of his defensive style. Clearly Hopkins doesn't have the stamina at that age to be active enough in there so he has to calculate more. Any active style, like Calzaghe's, would be overwhelming for a 43 year old.

And picking a fortysomething opponent as a 'career defining culminating fight after ten years of championing' is just being a peice of ****, even if Bhop is still pretty good. Still it wasnt as bad as picking a shot Roy Jones and then showboating in front of the guy.


Not taking anything away from Cal's2 wins over them -he still beat them, and thats not a bad acheivement, but its far from a good acheivement, and its certinaly not the superfight he should have been taking on. Truth is Calzaghe was NEVER up for a superfight inhis whole career, but Froch will take them any day of the week.

 

pudwell was a late replacement opponent you ****in arsehole, if you want to see embarassing title reigns full of bums, then go and check out the title reigns of toney 168, hopkins 160, and jones 175 :deal

 

Carl Froch is yet to beat a reigning champion.

Joe Calzaghe beat 3 of his nearest rivals. Froch is yet to do it once.

For Froch's first defence he travelled to America to face Taylor (the man who had already beaten Calzaghe's best win) in a fight were he was the underdog.

Calzaghe's first defence was at home against Branco Sobot, a 15 fight novice who had perviously fought at middleweight and couldn't even ever cut it at European level and struggled at domestic level in Germany, never mind World level.

 

At 168 they aint done much, that dont mean they are not good fighters.

Anthony Mundine would be a better fighter than Bernard Hopkins at 168. Because according to the logic you displayed:-

hopkins has never beaten an elite opponent at a fair weight in his entire career :deal

when b-hop stepped up to the plate, he got his ass handed to him by jones, taylor, and calzaghe :yep

even tripe like mercado, allan, and pascal gave b-hop trouble. hopkins has stepped into the ring 9 times and not been god enough to emerge victorious :rofl

don't know enough about mundine to take that on so i will avoid the boxing rec route. what i do know is that taylor, dirrell, abraham, pascal, and johnson have not proven themselves to be any great shakes at 168.

Calzaghe showboated against everyone - even on his debut.

 

Froch has shown more guts than Calzaghe did. But when other things are considered:-

Skills, Talent, resume.... Calzaghe > Froch

Froch can claim: He fought anyone anywhere at anytime.

Calzaghe cant claim that.

Regardless no one can deny this:-

In terms off Resume, skills and talent Calzaghe > Froch

yes he had a choice of whether to showboat or not. hes not a robot.

Holmes wouldnt showboat v shot Ali. There was a reason for this. He had class, and commonsense.
