  2. Shavers right hand was better. Wlad's left is better.

    Wladimir.

Shavers only fought 20 true HW's (+215lbs) and he only KO'd 11 of them
His record is padded with bums and modern cruiserweights, he was a hard puncher but not the greatest. And he's not a harder puncher than Tyson o Foreman either, no way

Shavers "him punching through walls" Shavers of course. He was active in the 70s. Fighters from this period naturally punch harder than modern day fighters.

Actually in terms of pure one-punch KO power, he probably was a harder puncher than Foreman and Tyson - at least in that right hand of his anyway. I'll take Ali's and other fighters' word that Shavers hit harder than Foreman. And let's not pretend that Wlad doesn't have bums and cruiserweights on his record. Not to mention, Wlad has always been the heavier and taller man in his fights.

I think Wladimir hits harder, regardless his general resume.

Shavers couldnt easily K.O natural heavies with a punch, and Wladimir can do it.

Ken Norton was a fairly decent fighter. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of him though.

He had an awful Chin. I want top contenders with decent Chins that Shavers KOed. There isn't really one. I would argue that Norton was not even his best KO.

Does that stop him from being a top fighter? You didn't say "top fighters with good chins", you said "top fighter" and Norton was one.

He was the only person to ever cleanly stop Jimmy Young. And, of course, there are the opinions of people like Larry Holmes and Muhammad Ali.

Some pundits claim that Mike Dijohn(sp) had the hardest single shot right hand.

Wrong, Wladimir has outweighed only around 50 percent of his opponents.

Ali's word means ****, he also said Foreman had him out on his feet a couple time from glancing hits, yet Shavers who landed bomb after bomb on his head couldn't KO him. If Shavers hits harder than Foreman that wouldn't really make sense, would it?

Ali, Cobb, Lyle, Holmes, Tillis they all praised Shaver's powers

What do they have in common? none of them was Ko'd by Shavers, all of them defeated him!

Fighters always praise the opponents they managed to beat, when they say "Earnie Shavers is hardest puncher eva" they are merely praising their own wins since they survived "Shavers, the hardest puncher eva". It happens all the time.

Take Larry Holmes for example, are we supposed to believe Shavers hit harder than Tyson, when Holmes survived only 3 rounds against Tyson (Larry's only KO'loss in his whole career) but Shaver's couldn't KO him in like 23 rounds they fought?

Nostalgia ridden bs, Shaver's power was great yeah. For the cruiserweight division, that is.

That is great and all Jack but someone with such savage power would have KOed someone of better note than Norton a guy who any objective fan will admit didn't have the best Chin.

Shavers did not KO one fighter from that period of note. Reminds me of Sam Peter who people on here called the next Mike Tyson and his best KO is......wait for it.......Glass Jawed Oleg Maskaev. Sorry, when your best scalp is Ken Norton or Oleg Maskaev you are not a savage power puncher.
