The Kirkland Molina debarcle The Enzo Macronelli timekeeper gate debarcle THis is just this past weekend ! and it happens somewhere ever week Boxing is easily one of the most poorly run mainstream sports and it is really killing the popularity
Well its not a brand like the NFL, MLB, NBA ect and I'm sure futbol around the world is the same. Boxing is run by promotors its the WWF **** chirst sake.
I always hear about the good ol' days, this imaginary boxing utopia where everything was great and was a popular mainstream sport. You're beating a dead horse. Always was a niche sport and always will be. Trained men beating eachothers heads in is not mainstream. Boxings hardcore fans will always stick around, the buzz with the casual fans will always fluctuate.
every sport has controversy the penalties in the Steeler vs Seahawk Superbowl bad strike or ball calls on pitches guys who are safe being called out or the otherr way around the 1972 Olympic basketball game between the US and Russia Im too tired to name specific examples but there have been plenty of **** calls in World Series, Super Bowls, NBA finals and other events controversy just is part of all sports
Boxing is being hurt because every fight is being turned into a PPV before the mainstream public knows who the fighters are.
Cost of PPV is insane! Criminal judges and referees, rob the true winners of a fight. Boxing promoters will not give us the fights we really want. Boxing is cooked and should be investigated!
Yes there are bad calls in every sport, but not as many percentagewise as boxing and boxing isnt doing anything to try and fix things Take tennis for example, they have the electronic line call devices so there are no more human error bad calls , even if the machine isn't 100%, it's the same for everyone with no human involvement Boxing needs to use video replay much much more plus judges and everyone associated with a fight needs to be accountable for their actions. E.g. the judge who had Kirkland winning should have to sit through every minute of the fight with the commission and explain their rationale for their scoring of each round.
