    This.

Marquez is my boy, but Marquez is too small for 147lbs...which is why 144lbs is the highest he has fought, and Cotto isnt gonna go down to 144lbs.

Juan would have his moments (especially with his uppercuts) but Cotto's power and strength would be too much.

Marquez is a superior boxer to Cotto and is on another level.
But I guess what you're saying makes sense because the thread
said at 147 and JMM hasn't fought at that weight before.
And no, Marquez is better than PAC that's a fact proven
    Already.:deal

    JMM>>>>>>>>>Cotto,Margarito,Judah,foreman,mayorga

What is Cotto going to do that Pac could not do to JMM:think

Cotto is the bigger fighter but JMM is hands down the better fighter(a level above Cotto). SIZE alone, as has been proven countless times, will not win a fight.

Said this before many times. The only time size comes into play is when
both combatants are of equal skillset.(see JMM/FLoyd)

From time and time again, we say that style is what makes a fight.. We can talk about this again after Cotto makes it hard for Floyd on their fight night.. Floyd is way better than Marquez.. I'll bump this thread after that fight, and you'll just :patsch and be  while I can :rofl with all what you think Marquez will do against Cotto.. :deal

By your own reasoning, even if Cotto gave FLoyd a hard fight it would only be a matter of "styles" which would have no bearing on JMM vs Cotto.

JMM and Floyd have the same style, they are both counter punchers and at some point can be aggressive..

Although the angle of the punch is different as Floyd likes to counter with his left hand from below giving a semi-uppercut left hook and rolls his shoulder with his head simultaneously with his punch to avoid the impact of the opponent's punch.. And his right straight that comes from the top of the opponents arm, which sometimes he ducks after it hits..

Marquez on the other hand loves to use right straight lead if he wants to attack and putting left and right counters on the mix..

We add up Floyd's shoulder roll and head movement with his jab, we all know that he is another level ahead of Marquez..

The point here is, if Cotto makes it hard for Mayweather then its going to be a lot harder for JMM.. :smoke

Probably early knockdown by Junito on Jmm, but Marquez finds an opening and starts shifting momentum on his side. Most likely stops Cotto late. Like Pacman Marquez is deceptively alot stronger than they look and won't get pushed around by the bigger fighter. Would be a great fight tho, just Marquez on a higher level than Cotto. Nowadays just to be competitive with Pacman is no easy feat let alone defeating him and getting robbed. Marquez SD Cotto or Marquez TKO Cotto.

Cotto's too big I think , but I could be totally wrong. Pacquiao is not a big guy which is one of the reasons Marquez competes with him so well. Cotto's a big strong pressure fighter. I don't know if Marquez has enough power at that weight to keep him honest.
