Manny already beat him-Why is Floyd fighting Pac's leftovers????

Pac beat Floyd's opponents but its different because we didn't know the level of the Pacman.

With Floyd, we know his level-he ducked Pac to fight Cotto-

Pac is the peoples champion and will continue to beat any fighter put in front of him-

Bob Arum will make sure the Pacman fight gets made when Pacman wants to fight-not when Floyd wants to-Pacman is the best fighter in the world and Floyd will have problems with his quick feet and punching power.

Given the way Floyd has fought in his last 2 fights and his legs slowing down further, i see him staying in the pocket more and taking Cotto out late.

I don't know about that. Undefeated Cotto of about 2008 prior to his fight with Margarito was a pretty darn good fighter. He was undefeated, confident and had big wins over Mosley and Judah. Floyd, on the other hand, was a small WW and not really filled out yet and he was almost strictly a sharp shooter and didn't stand his ground like he does now.

I think Floyd would've won about 8-4ish but that's the most competitive Cotto i can think of given the situation i just described above.

I'm tempted to say yes, but I wont because Floyd's best weapon is his ability to adjust and eliminate his opponents advantages.

However, I think Cotto has a chance if he can muscle Floyd around, land quick combinations and get out. If he makes Floyd fight outside his comfort zone, then he has a chance.

Problem for Cotto is, like everyone has said, he has stamina issues and Floyd comes with several game plans and adjusts on the fly.

I think that stamina, reflexes and versatility will determine the outcome...all of which Floyd has advantages in.

HAH- Lovin the thread-- Obviously boxing defensive genius Mayweather on points

However I would love to see Floyd knocked out convulsing foaming at the mouth... a guy can dream.

Yesterday's NYC presser change any minds? :yep

    For those who missed it:

Floyd is brash as ever, in it for the money...

Miguel is taciturn and determined...and unsure exactly what he is going to do to win...

    Classic by both guys :)

This is a better Cotto than before honestly, even though he got beaten by Margo and Pac

This is what happens when you are regarded as the best boxer in the world.

I'm hearing people on this forum declaring pac v bradley a 50/50 fight

Now tell me how does the p4p number 1 fighter go into a fight at 50/50 against a guy in a lower division. It makes no sense at all.

Not quite shaking out 50-50 so far. About as close as this.
