Not to mention Hopkins a career middleweight jumps to light heavy and wins the title then loses it then regains it still holding it to this day all while being shot?

Hopkins may not be as good as he was compete prime compete, but the fact he can fight and in cases dominate top p4p opposition like he did to Pavlik clearly means he isn't shot. What he has lost in power and speed he has gained in Ring IQ and knowledge of the game.

Also heres a thought. Would Hopkins in his prime easily beat this Hopkins right now? Of course not. He may win but it would be a tough stinker of a fight and probably a close decision. Exactly the same for Cotto and IMO this Cotto would beat the old one.

    - RJJ
    - Holyfield
    - BHopkins
    - Erik Morales
    - Margarito
    - Miguel Angel Cotto
    - Shane Mosley
    - James Toney

1 - Roy Jones - not only losing but getting sparked out as well, can only hang with other shot fighters like Lacy and Sheika.
2 - Evander Holyfield - been sliding for ten years at least, got made to quit on his stool against a near journeyman.
3 - James Toney - had absolutely nothing for Lebedev and I don't even think Lebedev is that good, too fat and any speed has gone.
4 - Shane Mosley - looked terrible against P4P superstars Mayweather and pacquaio and scraped a draw against Mora, still didn't look as bad as those above though and is at least lasting to the end of fights
4 - Erik Morales - can still hang with contenders and give them a decent fight but done at legit world level
5 - Antonio Margarito - could still give the top lads in the division a decent fight but eye is gone and will be targeted by anyone who fights him.
6/7 - BHop/Cotto - not sure between these two, their next fights will tell a lot but both guys are competitive world level boxers still and could go on a couple more years should they wish

    1. Holyfield - shot to pieces.

    2. Jones - shot to pieces.

    3. Toney - shot to pieces.

    4. Morales - mostly gone, still has solid technical skills and sheer toughness going for him.

    5. Mosley - nearly all gone, but remains rather dangerous at the mid-level.

    6. Margarito - Has been well on the decline for a few years now, but the difference between the present version and the peak version isn't all that much (not accounting for the benefit of anything illegal, of course).

    7. Hopkins - extremely faded, but still very, very good. At worst he's the 2nd best fighter in his division.

    8. Cotto - Only slightly past prime.

    Most to least:

    Holyfield
    Mosley
Toney (he's the most faded of the group physically, by a long shot, though)
    Jones
Margarito (although with his eye problems, he has an argument to be #1)

    Morales

    Hopkins

    Cotto

    Toney Shot
    Margo Eye problem and shot
EM A shadow of his former self but doesn't embarrass himself

Cotto past his prime but nowhere close to shot

Holyfield, Jones, and Toney are shot beyond all recognition. Mosley is pretty damn close (and we'll see come May 5th if he's there already). The rest, aside from Miguel Cotto, are complete shells of what they used to be.

Most Shot - James Toney (mental condition is horrible)

    - RJJ (reflexes are gone, multiple KO victim, speech is starting to go..)

    - Holyfield (slurring, financially ruined, but could probably still beat half the top 15)

    - Margarito (that eye is ****ed up big time)

    - Erik Morales - aging, out of shape, but still competitive

    - Shane Mosley - aging, gasses easily, still competitive

    - BHopkins - Missing stamina, but still better than 90% of active fighters

Least Shot - Miguel Angel Cotto - Looking good. Still elite fighter.

Hopkins, even in his horribly faded state, is still one of the best in the world. A testament to how good he used to be, how much resolve and skill he has, and how poor some of these current young guys are.
