Win over Cotto, Win Over Martinez, Win Over Pacquiao, Win over Khan, Win over Berto.

I think with these wins, he can easily overtake Armstrong in the rankings.

Not with those wins. Wins over Cotto, Martinez then a top guy at 168 (which we know will never happen).

Just to be as great as PAC is....Floyd would have to knock out a heavyweight.

He badly needs pac on his record never mind the rest of those guys to be even considered with the greats & my feeling is that he has just blew it by not fighting him next instead of Cotto, both are getting older & the longer he leaves it the less credit he will receive... its completely unacceptable to not fight your main challenger of your era & say your the best, neither fmj or pac can be taken seriously when discussing the ATGs because they have not even cemented their place as best of their own era.

As of now, its a complete insult to mention either of those pricks in the same sentence as a legend like Armstrong.

I don't get why people are still obsessing about the Pacweather fight with regard to their individual legacies. Ultimately, it will have very little to do with their legacies, for most hardcore guys, I suspect. It's like saying if Robinson didn't fight Burley, let's dismiss his entire body of work in relation to other great fighters. It's madness. Pacweather had a very small, unresolved overlap in weight class occupation with Mayquiao and it's ultimately not much of anything with regard to the rest of their careers. They've had as big a modern-day careers as you'll see leading up to the time when this fight was even proposed in the first place.

Why does he need it so badly ?
Floyd completely dominated Marquez and Pacquiao arguably lost to a older Marquez.
Mannys legacy seems to live on wins that Floyd already acquired before Manny got them.

You GTFO, this is straight from your boyfriend Floyd mouth so you STFU. Floyd said that what PAC is doing is equivalent as if he was knocking out heavyweights so in order for him to be as great as PAC is he has to knock out a heavyweight.

    No :nono

Fact is, these assholes have deliberately avoided each other despite the pleading of fans worldwide, they were given a once in a lifetime chance to perform in a fight that will be the/one of the richest ever, a pound for pound fight to cement their legacy as the best fighter of their era & go down alongside the true greats... for me as a big boxing fan, a fan that is interested in boxing history & legacies every bit as much as todays boxing, I find the actions of both fighters as ****ing embarrassing, both guys should be ashamed, the sport that made them rich is on a down & they are making it worse by making it a laughing stock.

You forgive that **** if you like & even go buy their 2nd prize fights vs lesser oponents, they rely on fans forgetting... I will never forgive this bull**** & will never pay to see them vs anyone again, I refuse to rank them when discussing `greatest` or `top 10` lists etc.

To be the best of your era, you have to at least try & beat your main rival.

I`m not just talking about fmj here, I`m talking about both fmj & pac... if they don`t fight (& I mean very, very soon, not as past prime fighters) then they will both be remembered as the biggest fight that never was & tbh thats what they deserve because its disgraceful behaviour by 2 men that are supposed to be representing our sport at the highest level.

These guys are what the next generation will aspire to be & their behaviour in the past 3 years regarding this fight is a ****in joke... both men should be banned from fighting anyone else until they fight each other, this wouldn`t be allowed in any other sport.

If he beat all those fighters then yes...but c'mon now. He has to beat Cotto first.

Khan will not be a top fighter for much longer. After his next loss to Petersen he'll be slowly drowning.

Berto may not stay on top either.

Cotto Pacquiao Martinez and lets see if there are 2 more fighters out there that give him a good challenge. As of right now he is running out of competition IF Khan and Berto fall off.
