In your view, was George Foreman largely right in this interview about Wlad?

pretty accurate, except I dont agree Wlad is defensive, but he is reluctant. The Klits are just average in every sense of the word. I don't know how any knowledgeable boxing fan could put them up there with the greats.

Really, if Foreman went after Haye like he did Young, he would have lost a UD and probably got dropped. And if Wlad approached the Haye fight like young Foreman, he would have got stopped. Haye was quicker than Wlad and clearly had the power to hurt him with that overhand right as he rocked him late. I don't blame Wlad for being so cautious.

In the first Peter fight, he said Wlad was fighting like a larger Ali and has an iron chin. Was Foreman spot on than?

 

My opinion on Wlad is that he will surpass Joe Louis in defenses, putting him into the HOF.

George has a point that Wlad is content to box and not open himself up, which I don't see as a fault.

To me, as a fighter and a fan, the sport is about hitting but not getting hit back. Wlad is pretty good at that.

Fight fans may not favor Wlad but boxing fans appreciate the work and dedication it takes to do what he does.

Perfect example, Roy Jones Jr.. Technically, he was a disaster, but athletically he was a beast. He was all about flash and the show, but when his reflexes started to atrophy, he started losing. Now he's a tragic figure in the sport.

That won't happen to Wlad. He's going to stick around using technique and conditioning, like Hopkins.

Yea just like he dominated Sanders, Puritty, and Brewster. Wlad is a great fighter, but he's not dominating Ali, Louis, Lewis, Holmes, Tunney, or Holyfield at their best. Hell I don't think Haye, Chisora, Povetkin, Chambers, or Arreola could beat prime Mercer, Morrison, Lyle, Witherspoon, Ruddock, Rahman, Tua, or Sanders. The past contenders were much better fighters than todays that's why an old Lewis still was able to beat a prime Vitali. Povetkin is the only decent contender today and he almost got beat by a one armed cruiser!

 

Big Bad George got smoked in his prime by Jimmy Young, I doubt Frankenstein had the skills to hang with Klitschko.
Earnie Shavers? get serious for ****'s sake, klitschko would destroy Shavers.
Ken Norton couldn't hang either.
Liston would likely take a dive like he did against Ali.
Wlad would do very well in the 70's, he and Ali would be the two best HW's.
