Don't be sorry to say, that is your opinion. Here's my response... I can assure I made more fight Calloway & Tauasa then Alex made fighting all the above mentioned opponents of his, & I wouldn't make a dollar more fighting Alex. I never said I fought better fighters then Alex, he has a great resume. But for some reason, he is not ranked & does not draw enough to bring big money for better opponents. I know how much they offer & the best they've ever come up with is half of what I make to fight in China.
I've been getting the big offers for very big names, tv & $ yet Alex hasn't so something is working for me.

I don't know your own particular circumstances Chauncey. But as deMori's little bum-boy Totalpac correctly pointed out a while back, 'Leapai and deMori are heading in different directions'.

Leapai has somehow been able to entice a series of worthwhile US opponents over here. While deMori shamefully, but unsuccessfully called out a retired 40 year old in Reed, and then fights the now thankfully retired 42 year old Calloway, and the reasoning provided by his matchmaker (on this very forum) for the poor choice of opponents was lack of money.

If not with money, how is Leapai enticing the likes of Travis Walker, Owen Beck, Darnell Wilson, Jason Barnett, Peter Okello, Evgeny Orlov, Troy Wenda and Kevin 'King Pin' Johnson to fight him?

Chaunce, (if you dont mind me calling you chaunce).... Apart from Sonny Bill™ are there any up and comers in NZ to watch out for? Do you kow much about Olympian Joseph Parker? He was touted as the next big thing for a while. Have you given up on chasing the Tuaman for a Mega fight? What are his plans when he soughts out his profit and loss statements? Are you close to sealing the deal with Mitchell and if so,.......what pants will you be wearing? Please endeavour to answer most of and if possible all of these questions which, when answered, will give myself, and my family, the soothing feel of contentment.
    - Quick troll...have you ever been addressed as 'The chaunce' and what parts of NZ have you travelled to and like the best? Are you there for the long term? Peace and

How does fighting cans pull more money then fighting Leapai? I just dont get it?
your ranked 62 and alex 27 according to Boxrec. So if anything he is ranked higher then you..and alex doesnt have multiple regional titles like yourself.
Mate,my point, why talk about fighting better fighters etc when you keep on fighting stiff's?..you can fight Leapai and it all makes sence to me if what your saying is genuine( you want to fight better opp etc).

The Chinese fights made good money because they were huge events. Millions watching on Chinese TV, sold out stadiums, and their promoters have people hungry for good boxing. The same fight in NZ would have been for pennies on the dollar. It is like real estate man, location, location, location. Even in the USA Calloway vs Welliver in Missouri would make nickels on the dollar. In China though, The All American Prizefighter vs The Chinese Boxing Panda, that was an event.

With Chauncy you also have to realize that he is not in full control of his opponents. He has a world class manager in Roland Jankelson. They are a team and they have to agree on fights. Roland has been the one holding him back from the very top fighters until he is satisfied with his conditioning and training being as good as it can be. His main goal has been to show significant progress in the readiness department. Chauncy is a fighter who would jump at a bunch of guys even for small money. As he should as that is his job as a fighter. Roland is a top businessman and doesn't want the team taking a fight unless everything is good in their favor. As he should, that is his job.

Also on Chauncy's opponents for his regional titles. Every single one of those guys were approved to fight for those belts by either the WBC or WBO. They aren't sneaking in anybody for anything.

Also, you need to realize that the team has went after some good fighters who made sense for all, and even took fights for chump change that fit for them. The David Tua vs demetrice King bout was offered to Chauncy by David's cousin and promoter....they accepted the same deal King got but Team Tua stood them up. Chauncy's last bout vs Mensah was offered to Monet Barrett with a purse of 30-40 grand and he refused. Ohkello Peter was also offered that but he was not available. Oliver McCall was offered a fight and accepeted before backing out to make more money against Wach, he then got denied that fight on some health deal. Shannon Briggs was offered the fight and he denied too. Welliver was also trying like crazy to be the lowest request to fave Povetkin in the match Boswell got for the regular WBA title. When Wlad was looking for an opponent and went with Chisora who had done zilch at the time, Chauncy let them all know he'd take it for any purse they offered.

Welliver will take any HW title fight at any time. Welliver will take any high level HW eliminator at anytime as long as the purse is decent. And then a bunch of other guys fit the mold that both he and his manager can be happy with. Seth Mitchell with an HBO slot and decent purse is one of them. Any of the others who get together a good offer could also get the fight.

With Alex it is a whole different ball game if he were Top 15 in the WBO or WBC. It could then be an eliminator. But even then, it would have to be for a fair price. China would probably be the most lucrative place to do it. But it is a moot point when Alex has no rankings.

And when I talked about him being badly managed, i did not mean to bash his credentials. He has some good wins and made good progress. I am talking about none of those fights being for the belts he needs to have to get ranked for the eliminator fights. He was ranked by the WBO in the top 15 in 2009 when he held the WBO interim oriental title. Since then he's had 10 fights and only 1 of them were for an IBF minor regional title. And no defenses of any belts at all has occurred. That is 3 solid years where he should have been rated Top 15 for the world to see for the entire time. That is 10 fights without racking up any points in the organizations rating systems. And many of those fights were title level fights.

In the same 3 years, Chauncy has had far superior management. He has been ranked Top 15 for everyone who sees the rankings the entire time. He has racked up tons of defenses and captured many more titles. 12 fights in a row after 1st being ranked have all been for titles. He was interim WBO APAC while Leapai was interim WBO Oriental at the same time and both were ranked. And when Wlad needed somebody Chauncy was on that list. Alex had no chance to even get a title shot based on injury or pull out, or anything in that period.

Finally now with Kevin Johnson. they will make a title defense. And that should get them rated in the IBF if they win. Top 10 I would say. And I say kudos for that. But they should have been ranked the entire time. They never lost since they were top 15, even though that draw result sucked right after getting ranked. And then the next couple were not title level fights to get confidence back. The rest of them were. But no dice.

If Leapai had continued to work the WBO and defend his belt, he would be right with Chauncy who is #7 now. They would have been simulataneous top 10's together the whole time. Chauncy also has worked up to #6 WBC and Alex may soon be IBF Top 10. That would be 3 of the 4 organizations tied down by the 2 men as Top 10's and a huge eliminator for #1 or #2 ranking. But the way those dudes have operated, Chauncy will be top 10 in WBO and WBC and if Leapai wins he will be Top 10 in IBF. There is still no eliminator there. After all this time this fight is no closer to lining up because of them. But it could have been gaining steam and being for a **** load of marbles if they had gone the route of staying ranked and doing the building of a name that a ranked guy gets.

I wish Alex luck but this fight not being made with Chauncy is all their own fault. They have 3 years of wasted opportunities on their plate. And even what they have now is not good. Unranked Alex vs unranked KJ. KJ is very dangerous and likely the favorite to win. And it is not even an eliminator. If he were ranked and had a ranked dude, he could have an eliminator in a fight that he was more suited to win in. I rate him as an underdog though, even at home. If KJ is healthy he is going to need a phone booth to be able to catch up with him. Long arse Vitali couldn;t even do it. But with Alex KJ will score with the jab from the range he can;t get hit at. He couldn;t do that running away from Vitali. 7 inch reach and a big foot and hand speed advantage. 3 inch height and better head movement and defense adnavtage. For no marbles but an initial ranking. No applause from Messer for this.

That Welliver vs Calloway fight was awarded WBO China Fight Of The Year in Peurto Rico at the convention.

The 1st time I put out some pics of Chauncy in his Panda hat all these dudes were laughing. Then Chauncy was laughing to the bank with it on. His manager is brilliant getting him up in there and then Chauncy was brilliant for adopting the Panda Theme and becoming a HW Mascot. He finally got to be a boxing rock star in China. I hope some other big fights come up there in the future. Tens of thousands of Pandamaniacs going wild is what HW boxing needs for some stimulus.

I'm lobbying that he returns to his Fred Flinstone image for the HBO Seth Mitchell fight. Check out him in this avatar I'll have up for awhile.

I'm happy to educate you on anything you desire Spider. It's just that I found pretty quickly on these boards that feather boa's, nonna's and a little man love seemed more suited than that of actual discussion.

Seeing you continually demonstrate your lack of knowledge of the very basics of boxing has been a laugh, not an education

MDM has some of the worse footwork i have seen on a boxer he doesn't know how to use his lower body when throwing a power punch, fighting stiffs he can get away with what he is doing at the moment i notice watching on youtube he starts to breath heavier around round four that would be a worry if he fights a decent heavyweight who has no problems going the distance. You are right Spider he lacks basics i think MDM will gas out ko'd if he fought a decent and full sized one he would be very concerned lol zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:happy

You tube cannot train you to have the footwork and chin to be able to shatter a Glass Klitschko. Only born and raised boxers have this capability.

If Welliver didn't carry Calloway for 12 rounds in China he must be
one of the most feather fisted heavyweights ever.
Fight of the year in China, give me a break.
The convention members in Puerto Rico must have been giving the demon Rum a good old nudge.
    You're delusional Messer. :nut:yep
