Do you think the judges would have gave Marquez the nod over Pacquiao to set up a new superfight between Marquez and Mayweather? i felt Marquez clearly won that fight but if he would have gotten the victory, it would have damaged the super fight that the whole world wants to see. if marquez got the W, no one would suspect how badly floyd would school Marquez based on how he dealt with Pac. what u think?
The HBO machine needs Pacquiao because he's one of their two big stars and one half of the dream match that we're all still longing to see, HBO can't make millions of Marquez they can off Pacquiao...Marquez would have needed a shutout or a KO to win that fight. The Mayweather fight was more or less irrelevant.
Nope JMM is never gonna win a dec vs Manny as long as Arum is in the fold....... but if Mayweather didn't fight Marquez could almost assure that Mayweather and Manny would have fought already, and seeing that team Pac can no longer motivate Manny by saying JMM was shot vs Mayweather, after Jmm3 they know the two fighters are in different stratospheres, and will never make the fight
Thats wy it pissed me off when JMM took his foot off the gas in the latter rounds, but I completely understand JMM train of thinking, he felt he already on 8-9 and was no point of going out with fireworks, and potentially get dropped or stopped............................................. Quite honestly I don't even care about Mayweather-Pacquiao fight comes about, cause I know it will be a one sided ass whipping, but if Manny fails to prove himself, and in the future continues to duck a forth JMM match, it will be a mark on him, for the rest of his life(ala Lewis), and history won't be kind to him at all, since the spectacle of his latter career has totally overshadowed, and seemingly erased the history of how great he truly was in the lower weights.
So people is supposed go around and act like Manny didn't get his ass beat and lost 8+ rounds in JMM3 fight, just to support your agenda
Marquez until recently wouldn't of had the star power to have the judges swing in his favor. Manny is still the bigger draw it seems and with someone of Arum's stranglehold on boxing only someone with the same power like Floyd along with GBP could a fair decision be made if it came down to being a close fight. Marquez was in the worst shape of his career when he fought Floyd Í don't think it would of been so one sided if Marquez had more experience in the higher weights. Bold, but unwise move by Marquez.
Enough with all these floyd threads, seems like people are all day sitting there thinking how to recycle stuff that has been talked about 1000 times before. To answer the thread though, no.
