Yeah its funny because it's all true.. . which is why you cant refute anything I say and just spam a bunch of emoticons.
Non existant offence? Hard to win a fight without offence. Doesn't know how to throw combinations?! rofl How many Mayweather fights have you seen? Did you miss the Corrales fight? The Gatti fight? The Ortiz fight? He throws a beautiful jab to the body, and doesn't need to do any more, seeing as he's accurate enough and fast enough to land on his opponents head. Not hard to figure out? You'd think one of his 41 opponents would of battered him then? I mean it's not difficult to work out what to do? right? :nut You're an idiot, your technical understanding is non existant. You've never Boxed, you're a PacFag, just a total ******. I bet you, if we search your posts, and then search mine for the keyword 'Mayweather' he comes up more times in yours than mine :rofl
I'm about to jumprope, so I'm not about to rip your post apart right now. For now, I'll ask you if you still stand behind all this? Floyd has no jab Floyd doesn't go to the body Floyd doesn't make adjustments in a fight Floyd isn't versatile Floyd is predictable Floyd can't throw combinations Floyd's defence isn't as good as Hopkins Floyd has a weak chin Floyd isn't a master at clinching You don't have to be smart to beat Floyd Floyd has one-dimensional style Floyd has no offense It didn't take a great fighter to 'beat' Floyd
Castillo figured him out. Oscar pretty much had him figured out with a jab. Yes he does have a great jab to the body, but he doesnt do much else down there and he doesnt know how to put punches together. His offense is limited with little variety. I can replay to his fights back to back whether it's from the early days or now and call out to what punch he's going to throw. Hhe does the same bull**** time and time again. Left hook lead, right hand lead, jab. When he has a guy hurt he might put something together but thats pretty much it. Castillo exposed his INability to throw combinations. All Floyd could do in response to him was potshot and back away. How does a guy supposedly so versatile not know how to put punches together? You can bring up little examples here and there where he actually let his hands go by it's rare. Why do you think commentators like emmanual steward constantly bring up this fact? If Floyd really was combination puncher he wouldn't have had all those problems with Castillo and Oscar. But he only knows how to potshot and be defensive. Nah I just understand boxing enough to see faults in a guy that you and some other fanboys on this forum worship like he's god. That's why you cant refute what I say and just hurl insults and post emoticons like a 12 year old.
Which one is it? You state Mayweather can walk his opponents down, but then does little offensively. If his opponents have 'little' to worry about from Mayweather, how can he walk them down? Or do you still believe that a counter is not an offensive shot? None existent offense? Same question, do you still believe that a counter is not an offensive shot? I'll skip past the offense, I've already asked you that twice. He doesn't know how to throw in combinations is a strong statement, especially when 2 punches or more is a combination. :think His body work is surprisingly good. A straight jab, or right (on occasion) to the pit of the stomach. And a sneaky uppercut, again to the pit of the stomach whilst up close/in the clinch. The latter especially effective as the opponent can be caught mid breath, or untensed. Shoulder roll is all he does? No mention of foot defense? No mention of slipping punches? No mention of ducking? No mention of head movement? No mention of the lean/pull back? No mention of the high guard? No mention of timing and rolling shots. No mention of parrying? No mention of using his opponents punches to time his own offense? I'll ignore the last paragraph because most of it is down to opinion.
Floyd is a great offensive fighter, infact he is one of THE most effecient offensive fighters today, unlike "some" fighters he doesnt need to throw 100 punches to land 15 he will throw on avg 40 punches and land 18 close (40% or more) This is how I know you have never boxed, do you know how difficult it is to fight in the same manner going forward as going backwards, Khan cannot fight going backwards AT ALL let alone the same as he fights going forward. Nonetheless Mayweather can fight differently going forward than backwards and he does. Also you NEVER see Mayweather struggling to do basics like cut the ring off. Again I have addressed the weak offense you are confusing waste with being great.....Mayweather has thrown ALOT of combinations especially pre 147lbs (have you just started watching boxing in '08?) He is extremely hard to figure out thats why no one has been able to do it. Also Floyd has THE best jab to the body in the business, he also uses great body work on the inside and also breaks his opponents down with body shots - see Hatton! If Castillo had him "figured out" why didnt he win the second of their fights? Oscar was over the hill when he faced Floyd at 154lbs? So can I ask what was Oscar who weighed in at 145Lbs a full 19 months later after being beaten by Floyd? The problem with posters like you, is you have never been in a gym because I guarantee you no trainer (whether they like Mayweather or not) says the outlandish things you do. Instead of staying in your lane and praising Pacquiao you come into threads like this to try and discredit Mayweather when you clearly dont have enough information to do so.
If you could respond to BBalls check list please... His offense is limited? Then why is it not stopped? Why does Floyd Mayweather officially have the greatest Compubox stats of all time? Oscar had him figured out with the jab?! Oscar had success with the jab you ******, he also stopped throwing it once Mayweather adjusted and started timing the right hand over the top of it. DLH landed his jab yes, but had difficulty landing anything else. Once Mayweather adjusted and took the jab away, then Oscar's chances dissapeared. Use your brains here okay, or get someone without a disability to make you a picture book. You are a defensive fighter, you can land your punches and dictate the fight, keeping yourself safe in the process by throwing the vast majority of your punches to your opponents head. Why would you put yourself in danger by throwing to the body? Why is this a crtisism? He doesn't have to throw to the body... He jabs down their beautifully and then works upstairs. Where is the flaw there? He has a skill set you moron, same as any other fighter. His style is to throw a lead right, or a left hook. Again, there is no critisim to be made there! Much like Pacquaio (you know who Pacquaio is don't you? that guy on the poster above your single bed...) has a style that focusses on his straight left hand. You keep barking about the Castillo fight. You ignore the fact that Mayweather was injured, and the re-match. If you are LOOKING for a fight where Floyd could of lost, it's that one. The fact is that nobody has been good enough to make him let his hands go. Mayweather dictates the fight, it is fought at his pace. Again, this is not a negative you idiot. Manny Steward wants to see him let his hands go, that's all. Steward trains Klitschko! (I honestly doubt if you knew that.) I worship like a god? All I do is point out how stupid you are. You are a supreme Pacquaio nut hugger with a limited bearing on anything else. I've made critisims of Mayweather and written about where his technical flaws are. You wouldn't know that because technical discussion is way out of your depth.
Gander, please see me and the posters above me; and admit that you are a deluded PacFag with little Boxing knowlege. Thankyou. Gander could you please train me for a fight with Mayweather? You seem to have him figured...
SJS19, Emeritus, & AnthonyW, I'm reporting you guys for beating up on a ******! You guys are just wrong...You're ****ing wrong! :rofl
You dont have to be punching to walk a guy down. There's a lot of guys who can walk opponents down. Since when does walking forward suddenly make you superman? I mean just look at that sparring video. Floyd comes forward but he's not doing anything but throwing the jab and waiting for the other guy to throw. How is that any different from what he normally does on the backfoot?? If your going to come forward dont you think its logical to let your hands go or show some type of variety in your offense? I guarantee you that bum wouldnt have gotten the better of him if Floyd knew how to let his hands go. Counterpunching is defense, in my mind, but I think thats just getting into semantics. My point is that his offense is lacking. I dont see how a complete fighter doesnt seem to know how to put punches together. Obviously I'm exaggerating just a little bit. He may know how to throw combinations, and I see him throw 1-2's every so often but rarely , if ever, more than that. I've seen him train, and I noticed that he doesnt train to throw combinations, he throws single shots. Why that is, I have no clue. Maybe that's the style he was taught. But I see it as a gaping hole in his game. So that's his entire game down to the body?? A jab and an uppercut? Most C / B level fighters know how to rip hooks and combinations to the body. Don't tell me Floyd doesnt 'need to do it', or 'shouldnt do it.' There's never a reason not to hit the other guy when you can. I guarantee Castillo 1 would not have been very close if Floyd was a good combination puncher. Ditto for the Oscar fight. What I'm saying is that his defense and his ability to counter punch revolves almost entirely around the shoulder roll. If you know how to break that down , you can break him down. Castillo did a good job at that. Oscar did it a little with the jab, but he was missing some other components. If you look at a guy like Hopkins, he can shoulder roll, but he defend himself in many other ways, using footwork , pivoting, turning his man, and counter from different positions as well - with uppercuts, hooks, straight rights, and combinations. With Floyd his weapons are almost always exclusively the left hook or straight right. There are so many other weapons to utilize, that he doesn't use, or know how to. Basically Floyd is really good at what he does, but there's a method to what he does and can be broken down. He's not this super boxer that a lot of people believe he is. Take away his amazing athletcism and speed, what are you left with? A guy who's hard to hit (like James Toney), with good IQ, with great endurance, who can place his punches well, but he's no where close to unbeatable.
watching the training footy just shows you that he's levels above everyone when it comes to training. amazing ****, he's not the king of boxing for being lazy....what amazes me is how he stays as motivated as he does after being on top for so long.
Yep. If Cotto boxes patiently with Floyd, he's simply gonna get picked apart. He needs to create some urgency and keep jabbing, not getting discouraged. If the pace is slow and turns into a posturing match, Floyd will just beat him to the punch in those moments.
