Andre Ward next fight ?

I will not be surprise if Ward pass his tour for Spring and Summer. But the passage of Kessler to another division changes his plan for Fall and possibly make more pression on him to accept a fight with Buté if he wins over Froch. Maybe Ward could make an offer an offer to Stieglitz this Fall...

The irony of Ward's refusal to fight Bute and the reasoning, is it leaves him very few WORTHY options to fight himself.

There is Stevenson, D2, Rodriguez and Oosthusien, Pavlik or Groves, unless he fights one of Butes leftovers, or a guy one of Butes leftovers has beaten.:rofl

 

Ward won't be able to offer enough money to Stieglitz to compensate for the loss of his belt. Stieglitz will fight Abraham and one German boxer will sit on the WBO for a long time.

Ward can fight Anthony Dirrell or Brian Magee. If not, Bute is now the only high profile SMW available for a simple reason: the super 6 has eliminated many fighters of the top and many prospects are not ready yet to fight him. That's why he tried to make a fight against Martinez. He could also go to LHW ...

 

I think Ward is looking for guys he can outbox that don't have one punch power to walk through him.
Steiglitz would be ideal for Ward. Tailormade almost. Steiglitz is a boxer puncher like Ward, but tends to fight upright, and almost everything he does comes off the jab.
I think Tony Dirrel is another guy Ward would easily outbox. Dre is another story. While I personally rate Tony higher than Dre, styles make fights, and Dre, knowing Ward aint a puncher MAY not be so fearful as to give away rounds like he did vs Froch.
I'd like to see Ward give Oosthuzen a shot b4 Magee. Even EROD, if Tony is gonna be ducked for his name.

As for Steig vs Ward..........highly unlikely. Steig lost to Andrade, whom Bute beat twice. Would be hard for Ward to justify this fight considering his contempt for Bute. Also, Steig wants a payday, and Ward aint exactly known for packing soccer stadiums, and won't fight in Germany to save his life. :-(

well im a fan of boxing obvisouly, so yeah i wish ward was willing to get it on with bute right after the ward/froch. but to his defense he just fought in a tourney and wants a little rest. then comeback wit a kinda of a tune up fight before bute. im guessing he is going to fight magee in oakland which it shoudlnt be oakland . but after that he better stop fight in oakland n fight bute an a neutral venue. then i wish him vs dirrell would happen

 

I don't have any problem with Ward:

1) healing his hand
2) facing a southpaw before Bute
3) facing Bute in USA but not in California. NY or Las Vegas are not a neutral venue though, they are still in his country.


I have a problem with Ward:
1) saying Bute doesn't diserve the fight while planning an easier opponent
2) talking of going up and at the same time making an offer to a smaller guy (Martinez)
3) making any move not in line for a clash with Bute, what is what fans want to see

I don't care if my favourite fighter loses (Bute, of course). I want to see him against the best. Ward's fans should want the same. Until these 2 meet, questions will remain unanswered.

 

Ward will def have a tune up fight next, as mentioned possibly against Magee....

Keep in mind, Bute and Froch might be stretched out to a two fight deal very easily (it probably will for $$ purposes).

I personally think that Ward will eventually fight Bute but it will be in mid to late 2013.

i have a problem with this line of thinking... how many fights does a boxer have in a year...2 or 3. how many did he face during the s6 in one year?.. wher the boxers in the s6 the top 6 smw...no. so because these fights wher called the s6 makes it more exausting, more demanding...no. it only made things easyer avoiding contract complications. so why give ward all these excuses as not to face bute after he himself sayd the winner has to face him...bull****, he scared and wants to keep his belts a little longer...thas all.:bbbAndre ''sodd''Ward= son of donald duck in my book
