Roy Jones with solid fundementals, (solid jab, defensive capabilities based on more than footwork and reflexes etc) Anywho says anything about Jones having a china chin can **** off.
Bernard Dunne with a rock solid chin;)
Roberto Duran with a more disciplined attitude outside the ring.
James Toney with a higher workrate and consistency in the ring.
Wayne Mcculough with one punch ko power.

That's interesting because when he was younger he was rather over aggressive and would get clocked. Now he's more reserved he's working well behind the jab and dismantling people without taking any real risks. I think if he reverted back to the aggressive version he'd risk it all due to that chin of his.

    Just my thoughts :good.

Evatt, yeah, Tiger haircut guy.....I knew that one :yep.

Marlon Starling is the worst culprit ever, not in a technical sense, but if he had really put his mind to his career he would have been great. I know that he's already 'Great' but he's not Grrrreaaat, and he could have been IMO.

I know there are reasons why he couldn't focus at times (Killed someone in the ring earlier in his career IIRC, props to Flea Man) and it's tragic that he was possibly held back by this.

True mand, his over cautious style is what works for him now. But he did look like a beast in his younger more agressive days. What he did to Mercer, albeit an old one, was a sight to behold:deal

If he had a great chin he might still be that entertaining fighter he was in his youth, today. Or maybe thats just wishful thinking from me:yep

Larry Holmes with a left hook would have been something truly special IMO. I mean a proper left hook, one which he was really crying out for.

You look at the Witherspoon fight and think; 'If Larry had a proper left hook this kid wouldn't be making the distance, never mind making it close' though that does say a bit about Witherspoon's style (open to left hooks) but the fact that Larry didn't really posess one hindered him in more than just this fight. I know there's a big romanticism with the left hook in heavyweight boxing, and I'm not one of those people I swear, but Holmes with a left hook.....Imagine that coming off his jab? Devastating. Mix it in with his right uppercut....so many more KO's :yep

It was the only punch he really lacked IMO.

It still pisses me off, even now :yep.

Maybe he wouldn't have beaten the likes of Curry, but losing to Bumphus and Blocker is inexcusable :D

    that would be lovely...

but at the same time, a more entertaining and destructive Wladamir would be bigger box office around the world surely...?

Well, he almost certainly would've beaten Curry first time!

With those things Jones would never have been any good. His whole style worked because he was such a unique, athletic talent :good
