Quicker movements but the hands weren't much quicker... plus, Pazienza moved a lot but was still pretty easy to hit... a lot of wasted energy to be honest. Mancini was more effective with what he was doing IMO.
Yeah I just noticed that I posted on the issue nearly 4 years ago, and since then I think I've changed my mind.. Ray probably takes it, but It could have been a damn good fight.
I like Mancini in this fight although Pazienza might have been a little quicker than Ray, but Ray hit harder. It would be a good fight. Hard to pick a winner. Very evenly matched.
If Ray 'Boom Boom' Manicini stays in the pocket 'keeps it tight', he would walk through Vinny 'The Pazmanian Devil' mid-way through the 135 lb. fight. Computer Results; Rounds 1 thru 4, is all Pazienza, as his faster hand speed and footwork carrry him to easy round wins. Round 5, Pazienza begins to slow down, and Ray Mancini closes the gap and is able to score with his patent left hook to body shots. Round 6, the body shots begin to take there toll on Pazienze already, and his footwork is no longer an advantage, as Mancini (no slouch himself) maintains the pace and keeps the pressure on a fading Pazienza. Rounds 7 thru 9, are all Mancini, as Pazienza has no way to hold off 'Boom Boom' with his light punching. Round 10, Mancini, who has a slight lead on the scorecards, opens up with a terrific attack, and stuns Pazienza with a big left hook. Vinny uses all his footwork skill to survive the round. Big round for Mancini. Rounds 11 thru 13 are all big for Mancini, and he drives through Pazienza with a heavy body assault. Pazienza offers very little in the way of an offense, other than a wild overhand right and long range jabs which miss there mark. Rounds 14 and 15, Mancini cruises as he has a big lead on the scorecards. Pazienza, who knows he's behind, cannot mount any big charge as the body punches he has taken have sapped him of his strength. Scorecard,,,,, Ray Manicini,,,,,,9-4-2
