If David could land his left hook on anyone he could win. but against the top guys he did not always win or land that punch, which was his bread and butter obviously. He had his chances to be great and fought many guys. I loved his left hook and thought if it landed on anyone he had a chance to win, but an ATG? I am not sure I see the possibility there. But I thought he was a warrior and fought everyone he could have.

I agree with Freddy in the sense that after 5 or 6 rounds of being outboxed Tyson gets frustrated and angry and he has always had stamina issues.

Usually though It takes a large, skilled man to do that to Tyson or an atg like Holyfield, Tua wouldnt fight like that, he would come head on at Tyson trying to throw bombs with him, which imo would be a mistake, even the most granite of chins can be cracked

I just think that Tua's style, and lack of defenseive skill would prove to be fatal here, Tyson would be landing lead right hands, and vicous combo's on Tua's head and body, he would give Tua a beating like he's never felt

I predict a stoppage around the 6 th round

Tua has always been lazy, always. I dont know how Roach could say that about Tyson when he really never trained the peak Tyson. Tua never had the two fisted punching and speed Tyson had either.

Ive heard from several sources Tyson was getting hit and hurt more in the gym under Roach. I dont care how good your chin is, if your getting hit cleanly by heavyweights your going down. Tyson was supposedly knocked out by Friday Ahunaya in the gym.

Tyson during his prime was never outboxed by novice boxers like Tua was time and time again. Roach is wrong on this one.

:good I agree, while a very good "Grade B" Contender-level slugger, Tua was a true one-arm bandit, had a terrible allergic reaction to any jabs, & turned into a terrified tortoise when hurt.

If that's true, you've got to remember, we already know Lewis brutally beat Shot Tyson until what remained of his punch resistance was totally gone forever :ko, & Roach didn't get to train Tyson until a year later in '03! :-(

The gulf in class would be apparent early on (even with a 90's Tyson)

Pre prison Tyson would eat Tua alive. Post prison/late 90s Tyson is more of a question mark

Sorry it will take more than a left hook and an afro to beat Mike Tyson.

This fight ends somewhere like the Tony Tubbs fight who also decided it was smart to fight on the inside with Tyson. Tubbs looked goo for the first round but nobody knew how much the body shots and uppercuts had affected him until the 2nd round.

Tua in his prime didnt do **** against Lewis, Tyson was way past his best and actually manned up and took everything Lewis dished out, and even won a round.
Would a peak Mike Tyson go into safety mode after one right hand from Lewis?
How would an old Tua do against Lewis?

Tua doesnt have the footwork, speed or height like Douglas and even then Douglas threw more punches in that fight than probably Tua has his whole career. Tua is just plod plod plod throw a few punches plod some more.

Holyfield is a guy who studied Tysons every move and had the smarts to pull it off. Tua was even more one dimensional than Tyson was.

Tyson would have no problem unloading on Tua, Tuas got no advantages over Tyson whatsoever only maybe punch power.

Its a bit like Shavers Vs Foreman, i pick the guy who was better overall (Foreman)

Holyfield, Lewis and Douglas all fought on the backfoot to wear Tyson down, dish out enough punishment and avoid it themselves.

Guys who came forward like Berbick, Bruno, Ruddock and Tubbs got knocked out or got their **** pushed in.

Ike was good and had potential, but he was no Mike Tyson.

Comparing Tyson to Ike and Tua is like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Honda.

Not saying Sanders is better than Tyson, but he could arguably have faster hands. prime sanders had extremely fast hands, especially in his prime
