Who says he can't you LOL when did you become THE authority on boxing Gander....and secondly Floyd has fought 42 pro fights and over 100 amatuer he has thrown combination in the VAST majority of them. Only recently can you say he doesn't throw any meaningful combinations. Not to mention he has great accuracy and the best timing so that combined with his other assets says he is a great offensive fighter, it's just he is an EVEN greater defensive fighter. You cannot win fights without an offense even if your defense is through the roof you HAVE to be able to hit your opponents and Mayweather does this with ease as we have seen. Here you go lying to try and back up your B.S claims you cannot name me 1 fighter (B or C level) who can fight going backwards as well as forwards. Do you know why because fighting backwards is incredibly difficult I know because I have tried it.....MOST boxers cannot do them equally as well. Also if B/C level fighters can cut off the ring why couldn't Manny? :huh Thats right because ONLY Pacquiao can impress you. It's not a cop-out and you can clearly confirmed what I have been saying all along you have never done what you are crtiquing so how can anyone take you seriously? Who on this board would take advice from a 14 year old virgin who likes to watch his favourite porn star over and over on how to have sex? No one, thats how outrageous listening to you would be! Where's the personal b.s? Boy you just sensitive get on with it! Man you are like a broken record, please go and watch ANY of Floyds pre 147Lbs fights and then come back and talk to me about he doesnt throw combinations..... Boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit. It's not the art of throwing combinations..... Answer my question why didnt he win the second fight? huh? I tell you what is figuring someone out, your boy has fought JMM 3 times and not once has he won conclusively so much so that your boys boss wants him to fight him a FOURTH time. Stick to what you know... Zab is a great boxer, got the heart of a midget but a great boxer with blazing fast hands....he gave Floyd problems for 4 rounds and then got a beating. You see this is the problem that Floyd has set the bar so high that even lose 3/4 rounds is considered a bad night for him. Oscar is known for having a good defense not a Mayweather all time great defense but a solid defense, do you even know that Mayweather SR was training Oscar for 7 years you think any fighter under Sr for that long wont have a defense.....we've even seen Oscar used the shoulder roll (those of us who realise he had a boxing career before he fought Pacquiao) To be honest you dont know what you are talking about! Mayweather was fighting a much bigger and heavier and stronger man in Oscar at a weight he was unfamilar with and did a good job! You just see what you want to see......the fact is he got the W every single time and had one close fight in 42. His nearest rival officially got beaten 3 times, and got gift decisions against JMM and has looked horrible in a number of fights....yet you want to moan about his combination punching? LOL! So infact he didnt figure Floyd out at all then! We at last seem to be agreeing! :good The fact remains I will take the likes of Eddie Mustafa, Nazim Richardson, Buddy McGirt, word over yours, whether it makes you lose sleep or not Floyd is one of THE most complete boxers we have ever seen.
I've seen most of his pro fights and he's never thrown combinations with any kind of consistency. He's a potshot artist. I dont know what fights your watching. Ask Emmanual Steward about that, he's been ringside for much of his fights and he makes the point ever time. There's nothing about him that says hes a great offensive fighter. He does have great accuracy, but his opposition also has something to do with that. Floyd is a defensive fighter through and through; calling Floyd an 'offensive fighter' is a nonsense statement to begin with. Who does he hit with ease? Give me a list of names so I can be impressed. First of all its absolutely not true Floyd can fight as well going forwards and backwards. We've seen him get caught the most and off his game when he's going forward. But most boxers should be able to fight back or forwards to some level. It doesnt make you Bruce Lee. Why are you bringing Pacquiao into the discussion? This has nothing to do with Pacquiao. This is where you start looking like a troll. I agree that Pac isnt good at cutting off the ring, in fact he has quite a few flaws. Every fighter has flaws. I'm not the one making hyperbolic claims and nutting all over certain fighters, you are, and its on you to back it up. Again it has nothing to do with with Pacquiao. Me boxing has nothing to do with it either, I can have an opinion like anybody else. Go back to college and learn about fallacious arguments. Do you think 99% of commentators and boxing writers have ever boxed? Some trainers have never boxed. Gil Clancy never boxed. I've watched them , you need to back and refresh your memory. He's never never been a serious combination puncher, period. He shown spurts of it, and hes had moments here and there, but he's mostly into single punches, sometimes he mixed them up together, but rarely ever throws fluid combinations. How are you gonna go from saying that 'he doesnt need to throw combinations' to some bull**** like 'floyd has always thrown combinations.' atsch Make up your mind bro See above. Zab isnt a great boxer, he's B-level and he was given worse beatings and schoolings by other fighters. Oscar was completely over the hill when Floyd fought him and he made Floyd look totally ordinary. Weight wouldn't have made a difference. Im not moaning about anything, your making crazy claims and Im shooting them down, period. No, we dont agree. Castillo figured Floyd out and if Floyd was as complete as you think he is , that wouldn't have been a close fight. So what, I can point out other trainers / boxer's who are level headed and can see that Floyd has faults like anybody else. Regardless, those are people with opinions, like anybody else. I've a right to mine as well. I wont loose sleep over anything. Floyd is a good fighter and I dont deny that, but he's not as good as you think he is. If you wanna keep believing that more power to you, but I'd say watch more boxing learn more about the sport, and you'll feel less impressed about him. The difference between me and you is im not making 'outlandish' claims about anybody you are. You won't find a single post from me calling Pacquaio the greatest ever, or one of the most complete ever, smartest ever, etc. I actually see and recognize faults in every fighter and that includes Floyd. If your gonna call Floyd complete / greatest or whatever then Im going to point holes in that argument, and there's are holes there whether you wanna believe it or not.
Floyd is a potshot artist, Floyd isn't an offensive fighter. Floyd can't fight going forward and backward. And then you ask for names of guys Floyd has hit easy, lmfao. ****ing troll. A clueless troll. Floyd didn't lose to Castillo mother****er so get that into your thick skull. Castillo fought Floyd tough. Your comment about how Castillo figured Floyd out is ****ing mind numbing. Floyd was still becoming a complete fighter fighting a naturally bigger man, and Floyd won twice. Yeah Floyd learned from both fights. You mother****ing ***tards pick arguments you think you can win. Who the **** did Pacquiao lose to? Look at Pacquiao now. Why are posters bringing up Pacquiao when you post? Ill tell you why. Your posts have "Pacquiao is better than Floyd" overtones every time you post, and they've have been like that for a while now troll so admit it mother****er. Admit it to yourself first. The fact that you think Castillo exposed Floyd even though Floyd beat him twice tells posters that you're ****ing hard headed or one ignorant mother****er. The more you watch boxing, the less impressed fans will be of Floyd? ****ing ignorant *******. Even *******s don't deny Floyds skills. You're a ****ing *******, and you've been one for the short time that you've heard of Pacquiao you ****ing troll. You just started watching boxing.
Why the hell are you so fixated on him and his ability " to not put punches together" who gives a flying f*ck. If he wasnt as versatile as your saying , or had no offense, or is easy to figure out as you suggest - why the f*ck have 42 other PROFESSIONAL fighters not been able to beat him ? why have 42 other trainers not been able to exploit his "gaping holes" ? You talk nonsense
Gander Tasco is clearly a little ***** on this forum....a guy who says some of the **** I've seen quoted by posters in this thread, is horrible. Dude gets 0 points and is currently scoring a 0 in Boxing 101. He should take Pacquiao's ***** out of his throat.
But the trainer has a lot to do with preperation and if his preperation isn't as good, it will make a world of a difference considering the fact that Cotto is an elite fighter. So it does make a difference. Everything starts in the gym first, than your skills does the rest in the ring. I just feel that he's underestimating Cotto a little because he thinks it's gonna be an easy night, just like he thought it would be an easy night when Mayweather fought Jose Luis Castillo, and he got shocked.
Good videos:good Didnt Floyd say in an interview he doesnt like wearing headgear during sparring becuase it takes away from what a real shot could be:huh
I think he said he doesnt wear the head guard with the protection that goes across the nose, because you dont feel the shots as much. But Ishe Smith also said the week of the Shane fight he was sparring without any head gear.
