Why did BHop duck a rematch when Tito was on his knees begging for one?

I hate the fact that Bernard never gave Tito a rematch after the 1st controversial fight. Tito was having marital and weight problems during training and he wasn't 100 percent focused. Add the fact that Team Hopkins falsely accused Tito of cheating and you have a recipe for disaster. Why did Bhop duck the rematch? He would made a career high payday and world wide exposure. It was a close fight and Tito desrved a rematch.

About to walk to starbucks so I'll reply later.

Why should he rematch a guy he dominated for twelve rounds before shattering his Glass Jaw? Sorry, rematches are reserved for close fights or the times when a fighter has worked his way through the rest of the division and earned another shot.

This is dumb, since when does a fighter deserve a rematch when getting completely dominated and Koed?

When a fighter is a decided favorite or Champion, even if he's dominated and stopped- he almost always gets the benefit of the doubt. A rematch would have been fair but frankly it likely would have been unnecessary.

Exactly, that's like Hopkins giving Tarver a rematch... what's the point? Rematches should only be reserved for highly competitive, controversial fights

I would have loved to see the rematch, and also wondered why it never happened. It's not like Hopkins had bigger fish to catch or better pay checks waiting for him. Tito had some excuses for his loss, and I would have liked seeing the fight when neither fighter had an excuse. Maybe Hopkins wasn't going to be very motivated for the fight even if it did make him a lot of money. But saying the fight was close is a joke.
