 You can call an idiot all you want to...you're the one who made a stupid allegation and I countered it.

You're trying to compare these two bouts like its similar...Jones lost due to hitting a downed opponent...Vitali lost because he got his face damn near ripped off...Nothing about the two bouts are similar other than the ref stopping it!:rofl Totally pointless to compare the two!

Yet you want to call others idiots!:rofl The irony is too funny!

This fight added to both fighter's legacies.

Lewis was past prime and inactive yet was still able to beat a future dominant champion in Vitali, something you rarely, if ever see. Despite the less than definitive outcome there is no denying Lewis won the fight and those who think Lewis was just lucky are deluding themselves. Lewis was out boxed early but he adapted and had Vitali reeling near the end. You could argue 1 cut as being lucky but 2 horrible cuts plus the damage to his mouth in clear evidence than once Lewis found his range Vitali had no defence against the Lewis right hand.

Vitali faced an ATG and came away with greater respect by proving he could compete at the highest level, something his brother will never have the opportunity to do. Prior to the Lewis fight and Wlad's performance against Sanders he was seen as the lesser brother but after giving Lewis hell he proved he was the superior of the 2 brothers and possessed the chin, the heart and ability to compete with the best. In losing he proved more than any fight before or after.

What!!?!?!?! Boxers have won fights by doing this forever!!! This is a legit tactic to win a fight. Lewis opened that nasty cut and kept peppering it like the sharp shooter he is which is not pure chance, he targeted that muther****er, that is a skilled way to win and always has been. Many boxers have specialized in cutting people up for stoppages but you wouldn't know that would you? Cause you have zero knowledge of the sport......this a regular occurence in boxing and a legal, legit way to win....open a wound and keep smashing it until it's so bad the other guy is in danger of career threatening injuries if the fight doesn't get stopped..... Just as legit as a KO which was sure to come in the following couple rounds as Vitali couldn't see **** and Lewis was starting to land at will....Lewis has dropped early rounds in many fights to come back strong after figuring an opponent out, Vitali was toast regardless and this was an out of shape semi retired old fighter in Lewis. Too much skill for the robot. :hi::hi:

Lewis' legacy is enhanced in trhe eyes of ANY knowledgable boxing fan.
There can be no doubt about it.

Anyone who knows anything about the history of the Heavyweight division knows that in historical terms, this 'should' have been a passing of the torch fight. It has happened in generation after generation of heavies.

Lewis was 3 months shy of his 38th birthday, and facing a legitimate threat in VK. Did he look great before the bell, during the fight, or even after the fight? Not particularly. He started sluggish, and VK touched him plenty in the first few rounds.

But guess what? He walked through the fire; right through that ****, opened cuts all over the place, kept the pressure, and STOPPED his opponent.

The opponent who started strong, who had the opportunity to grab that torch like so many young challengers to the throne. It has happened over and over again in heavyweight history. Lesser fighters than Klitschko were able to grab that torch in the past, yet he couldn't do it against LL.

What Lewis did was the equivalent of Louis (37) beating Marciano, of Ali (38) beating Holmes, of Holmes (37,39) beating Spinks and Tyson, etc etc.

The pattern has been repeated for the entirety of boxing history: great fighter slows down, young fighter seizes the opportunity, grabs the torch and marches on toward future greatness. Instead, this challenger had his opportunity, and missed it.

Rather than marching forward with his new title to secure his own legacy, VK spent the next decade looking in the rearview. If he thinks he truly "won" that fight like you ****ing fatherless ***gots, why has he still not let it go. Answer, VK, a man smarter than his Klit-only fans, knows the score.

Why couldn't your hero, the one you pay all your attention to, at the expense of common sense and any semblance of boxing knowledge, grab that torch like every other young hungry contender?

Answer, he simply wasn't good enough.

Or Lennox was too good. At a time in his career where he was ripe for the picking, where countless ATG heavies had faltered in their careers, LL fought a young hungry contender and sent him along, vanquished.

THAT is proof right there that this fight enhanced LL's legacy.

    Damn straight.

Legends in Waiting steamroller over the top of the old guard, bringing the previous era to an abrupt halt. They don't get stopped on cuts, and then spend the next decade talking more about the retired champ than their contemporaries.

Vitali knew that his opportunity to secure a long-lasting legacy was through Lewis, and he had let it slip through his grasp by being drawn in a dog-fight that his tender skin was not designed for.

    Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis

    THE FACTS

Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.

Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round and was out on his feet, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times, out on his feet several times in the fight and was getting outslugged, outworked, outmuscled, outclassed, outlanded and outboxed by Vitali.

    punches landed

    Vitali 156

    Lewis 102

Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.

After the fight, Vitali intimidated the **** out of Lewis and made him look like a *****. The whole crowd cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis.

    Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.

Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The gutless coward Lewis retired shortly after that fight.

Lewis turned down 40 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.

Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his ***** ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"

Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"

Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.

Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.

Vitali got robbed. The corrupt doctor and ref were on Lennox's payroll.

It should've been a TD win for Vitali.

    Official Scorecards:

    Pat Russell: Vitali 58-56
    James Jen-Kin: Vitali 58-56
    Tom Kaczmarek: Vitali 58-56

    Other Scorecards:

    HBO: Vitali 58-56

    Sky Sports: Vitali 58-56

    Lennox's mom: Vitali 58-56

Vitali wasn't even in his prime yet.

Lewis was 37 when he got his ass whooped by Vitali.

Vitali is 40 and is still dominant HW champ.

Lewis was coming off the win over Tyson. In the Lewis-Tyson post fight interview Lewis stated "I'm like fine wine, I get better with age"

In an interview right before the Vitali fight, Lewis said "I'm at the peak of my powers, I will keep fighting for many more years"

Lewis was badly hurt out on his feet several times, outworked, outslugged, outmuscled, outboxed, outclassed, outlanded 156-102, dominated and retired by Vitali.

Vitali and Wlad have both easily surpassed Lewis.

Lewis will be remembered as a gutless coward who got his ass whooped by Vitali, blatantly ducked a rematch and retired with his tail between his legs.
