it baffles me that people put more stock in what a boxer says rather than what a boxer does.

they are boxers. they are defined by one thing; boxing.

He came across annoying. But he deserved some slack. He worked his whole career for those belts and he passionately cared about them. And they were taken off him by some dodgy refereeing and that wierd hat man incident.
If he'd lost fairly and reacted like he did then you'd be right to complain.

But I have to say, this thing about him not wanting Brook, is a bit premature. Especially when he’s not even in the same division as him, has a much more difficult fight coming in May to be focusing on, and Brook himself hasn’t yet elevated to that world stage where a Khan fight would make more sense (possibly late 2012 or early 2013). Not to mention, Khan HAS said he’d fight Brook. But people prefer instead to focus on his other comments that neglect an immediate matchup – comments that are perfectly reasonable considering Hearn and Brook have spent the best part of 2011 living off his name and discrediting him at every opportunity.

Yeah, a better man would rightfully ignore what a boxer says, and instead focus on his attitude towards the sport and in-ring value.

But I personally can't help but judge a fighter by his character, too.

Agreed. As a Brit, I'd love to see it. But it's not ducking. Brook hasn't fought anyone yet.

Hopefully brook gets a big fight in June that cataputs them onto the world scene

Would you agree with this being the order of Khans' best wins?

    Maidana
    Kotelnik
    Judah
    Malignaggi
    McCloskey
    Barrera
    Salita
    Limond
    Earl

I'd love that Brook fight, too. Hopefully it happens early next year some time.

I'd ignore those highlighted in red. He was just a prospect at the time, and the opponents were only going to serve as learning points.

His move to 140 was when he forced onto the world stage, and the competition vastly improved.

He needs the attitude of Carl Froch, he'd be my second favorite boxer after the Cobra. But after Peterson more or less exposed his flaws, then i've kinda lost something for him..

If everyone had the attitude of Froch, then boxing would have been a mainstream sport :yep

tbf froch slags off other boxers more than anyone.

& he made a hell of a lot of excuses after the kessler fight. blamed the volcano, said he was carrying lots of injuries including a perforated eardrum & called the decision a "sham" saying that he would have won in nottingham. then he kicked up a huge stink about where the aa fight was going to take place cos he didn't trust german judges or whatever.

i like carl but i don't see what you are saying here. they seem pretty similar. cocky loudmouths who will fight anyone at the end of the day.

I met him in London week after his lost to Peterson, he was doing shopping in my store and as soon as i asked him "how you doing champ??" he left his friends and stylist for few minutes and we started to talk about his fight with Peterson, it was funny at the end he joked "i just lended my belt's to Lamont in few months I will bring them back to Britain" really nice guy respect.

Khan wants to be the best, and tries his best to reach his goals, you can't knock him for trying.

Khan has an old skool Warrior bring em on mental, it's refreshing for the sport.

Yeah, the comparisons with Froch are lame. As you've said, he too kicked up a fuss with a fight he lost clearly (Kessler), and he too doesn't always have nice things to say about others; recent example being his comments about Ward.

Only difference is, Carl's far more intelligent than Amir, and puts his points across better.
