The way Nathan Clev is being handled is everything that's wrong with boxing

I hate to fighter bash but his recent choice of opponent in one Robin Krasniqi
and then Tommy Karpency before that. It's simply bogus and I hate to see it. I believe that you have these learning fights before world title status but once you have gold it is then your obligation to defend against only the best. And let's face it the lhw division is not short of legit competition.

I can understand that this kind of thing happens all round the world but what annoys me is the fact that pretty much all boxing news reporters in the uk will jump on the ****** hype train and start suggesting this fight means something. At least American boxing writers are man enough to speak up when their is some bullish*t going on.

Regardless of his poor choice of opponent I still think Clev is the real deal and I hope he gets the chance to prove it soon. Someone like Cloud would have been a great fight....

UK reporters don't jump over **** here, the sport simply ain't popular enough. The standard casual fan here in the UK will know a lot less about the standard casual fan in the US.

I don't really think Clev is the real deal. Hopkins & Dawson would beat him, Pascal could well get through his leaky defence and spark him out early, I'd favor him against Cloud but stands a big a chance of being KO'd (again, leaky defence), and I think Campillo would get robbed agaisnt him.

Simply put, he has the athletic talent but his defence lets him down. Hopkins/Dawson really would school him (unless Hopkins suddenly ages).

According to the BBC report W*rren and the WBO managed to 'resolve their situation' so long as the winner then faces the mandatory that Clev should be facing now (Sukhotsky) within 120 days:

Or in other words the WBO didn't want to lose out on sanctioning fees so rolled over and let Frank get his way (again):tired

 

So he should just wait 5 months to fight a big name? He's fighting the on night as Hopkins/Dawson for a reason. Would a big name be ready so quickly?

Nathan's next opponent will be Hopkins, providing Hopkins accepts.
