    Nope.

I dont get these if I beat No1 I jump to no1 thing. I remember Hatton bigging his fights with Floyd and Manny up as fights for P4Pno1 but had he won any he wouldn't have went No1 - a good run of fights gets you there. If Cotto beats Floyd and then avenges a defeat against Manny then he would have a good claim to the title.

    Two things.

    1. If Cotto beats Floyd and beats Manny, he'd clearly be P4P #1.

    2. Had Hatton beaten Floyd, he would have absolutely been P4P #1.

I'd reluctantly would say he'd be number 2 to PAC. Althought Marquez beat PAC IMO, but its hard to place number one since he lost to PAC. Even though he was 145lbs he still lost.

Agree with one but it depends on when he fought Manny. Manny could get beat of Bradley and then rematch him and lose again which would affect the dynamics of the argument.

I wouldn't necessarily say Hatoon goes from 8 to 1 on one victory, I think they would have moved Manny up to one and maybes Marquez and BHop still ahead of him - although cant remember the exact rankings at the time.

Pac and Marquez are 1A and 1B

    Donaire #3
    Martinez #4
    Mayweather #5

how would Cotto beating the #5 fighter in the world make him #1??? at most it would make him #5. Unless you have May as #3 which is funny. Still Marquez and Pac are above May so at most #3.

Are we talking about The Ring's P4P here?

Because you should know that Pac is still number 1 on their list.
So technically speaking, number 2 is the highest he can achieve by beating the number 2.

With that said, I'd say no, he shouldn't overtake FMJ on the rankings.
In the same way that Pac didn't get knock off from the number 1 spot after that gift decision from Pac-JMM 3.

If Cotto wins the ring will move him up to #2

If Mayweather wins the ring will move him up to #1

Well thank the gods for the check hook.

Ricky as the pound for pound best fighter in the world would have been too surreal. My sanity would have split like kindling under an axe.

I'm not even sure he goes above Floyd.

Would depend on the style of victory.

I can't see how he would be ranked anywhere below number 2. Depending on how you derive the rankings you would be hard pressed to keep him out the top three.

Most peoples ranking are too reactionary.

If he beats Mayweather he automatically goes ahead? Not for me, then you're ignoring the fact that styles makes fights and anything they have done before.
