the article that battheman posted is correct. it was andro that jones tested positive for which was legal over the counter at the time but banned by the ibf.

jones is my favorite fighter and i can't stand cheats. i stopped watching mlb because it's a joke. with that said, i don't have much of a problem with this. these guys take supplements. jones should have known what was legal and what wasn't but it was bought over the counter.

it's not like toney who's been caught twice for steroids and the second time for boldenone and stanazolol. boldenone is used on horses and can only be obtained through vets. hard to explain that one but for some reason toney gets usually gets more respect than jones does on these boards.

Why would steroids be illegal for police officers? Police officers aren't in sports.

    Bump...

In another thread some guys are saying that Jones tested positive for testosterone. I don't know where that came from.

The first test was to see if he had taken a steroid by looking for by-products in his system. They found something (its not made clear which by products they looked for - maybe testosterone), so they requested another sample so they could look for specific anabolic steroids. The second test was never done because Jones never gave them the required sample.

Nobody seems to have a ****ing clue what he tested positive for. The Indiana state boxing commissioner says he was 6x over the acceptable level... Presumably the acceptable testosterone level. Roy said he took Ripped Fuel, to which the commissioner replied that he had no idea what Roy took, but that he had "admitted to taking an anabolic steroid".

The problem with all these Steroid crusaders is that they forget one thing ,Boxing is a skilled sport ..No amount of PED's can give you skill !

Strength sure but what happens when you can't win a fight on strength ,you rely on boxing skill ! No substance can improve skill !

Thats why im sick and tired of hearing all this crap about performance enhancers when it comes to skilled sports ! Its like baseball ,if all of us took steroids not one of us could hit as good as Micky Mantle ..

Some PEDs allow you to recuperate faster. So if you take two identical twins and have Them working on the uppercut for say a month. One of them is given EPO which helps the body recuperate faster and thereby allowing him to work an hour longer on the uppercut every day.

After the month has gone take a wild guess as to who is the more skilled twin in throwing the uppercut: Twin A whos clean or twin B who was doped.

The answer is obvious and fairly easy proves that PEDs can give skills you couldnt achieve otherwise.

He didn't lose a lot of muscle mass. On fight nights for his LHW fights he entered the ring at 186. On fight night against Ruiz he weighed in at 193. That is 7 lbs of muscle he added, not 18 or 25 or whatever other inflated number his nuthuggers use to excuse his Glass Jaw. And let's pretend for a moment that it was one of those huge numbers. He had eight months between Ruiz and Tarver to drop it, he wasn't weight drained, at all.

I heard the quite possibly it was anything from 7 to 13 pounds dropped, but lets be honest fighters drain weight in much shorter periods and then go staright back up over night jcc is prime example, roys problem was he got old, his reflexes and speed had started to go, which left his chin open to a hell of a lot of damage, something his athletism had saved him from when he was prime. Really thats all there is too it, roy made so many excuses (typical fighters) but the facts are tarver exposed him, and it was all downhill from there.

Recuperation is one thing ..But there is no way in hell I am going to beleive anyone that takes a PED will imrpove on their skill ..

Boxing is about timing and muscle memory ..No Ped can give you a better ring IQ .If ped's made us that much better all the people that have taken them would have had more dramtic success . What seperates a A level guy from a B level guy ? Its skill ,no Performance enhancer will ever make them equal .

And with regards to training well ,George Foreman said when he first use to train his coach would make him throw jabs in the air for about an our ..How devestating did George's jab become ?

I don't ever recall him being on any kind of PED ..How about Muhammed Ali ?You think any amount of PED's can make anyone fight as good as him ?

Who has a better jab than Larry Holems or LL ? Name one fighter that has ever been caught on a performance enhancer that has ever had as great of a jab as those guys ?

Skill is taught and fine tuned ,It cannot be improved by suppliment, pill or drug ..

This isn't the movie limitless where some miracle drug enhances everything ..These drugs may give you extra strength ,faster recovery time but from a skill set it cannot improve it ..

The whole RJJ losing muscle mass and thats why he got KTFO is a huge myth anyway.
1 it was only a few pounds nothing major.
2 he WON his first match coming back down (a good 8 months after his HW fight)
He then had another 6 months to get used to a weight he just fought at.

He just got caught plain and simple.
The weight loss thing is nonsense.

The longer you workout, the better your skills right? PED's help you work out longer.

    QED.
