I thought I was going to see SRL with the way they was talking about him

 

Ever since Linares got with Roach he was the second coming according to the boxing media. :yep

 

I think he has talent. Enough of everything to have been a good champion.
Ill-focused training and gameplan played the biggest role in his last few fights. He forfeits his natural talents with his current corner and that will change things in favor of opponents.

yeah, it was painful to hear lampley and steward on his nuts so hard. it was hilarious seeing their reaction to him getting KTFO tho

 

HBO does go overboard in their nutswinging but not any worse than what some of you do here day after day.

 

GBP hyping Linares. He should have stayed with Teiken.

 

Linares can be aesthetically pleasing to watch at times and his punches come off real fluidly and loose, but the HBO hyping that fight was cringe-worthy. I feel bad for him after this loss tonight because he has a lot of heart and toughness, but he's too fragile and way to flawed to live up to a lot of the expectations placed on him. His defensive reflexes, head movement, ring control/generalship, etc. just aren't elite level. I'd be a bit surprised if he won a title belt at lightweight in the future.

Manny's losing it, the assumptions and nonsense analyzing after less than a round that he's been doing lately are hilarious, they always backfire, dude should shut up til mid rounds.

 

A classic Emanuel Steward scenario:

2 minutes into a random fight:

"I'm looking at his facial expression. He's very uncomfortable and going down the stretch, he might fold."

Then...

a round later, the uncomfortable fighter is firmly in control and winds up winning comfortably.
