If anyone was interested in reading what Molina had to say after the Kirkland fight, here is the transcript from OTR's latest interview with him.

Or if you prefer, the audio will automatically start playing as soon as you click the link, and the Carlos interview kicks off the show!

In my book, Carlos Molina is a class act and a damn fine boxer! It's too bad he cannot seem to catch a break, but I admire his dedication and his positive attitude!

I absolutely do not care what this guy has to say. He's a spoiler and I certainly don't care to see him fight again. Whether or not it was "strategy", he still stunk up the place.

While he might not have the most exciting crowd-pleasing style, I thought he exhibited outstanding skill and tremendous ring smarts.

When Hopkins and Ward utilize similar tactics to what Molina employed, their seen as brilliant and "old school". Meanwhile Molina is only seen as spoiling, even dirty and should be DQ'd?

Ward and BHOP usually tie up after they land something and works the inside while holding and alot more versitile while on the outside. Molina is GARBAGE with no plan B and holds just buy time until he gets KTFO because hes scared.

please dont compare Molina to 2 future ATGs :verysad

If there was a better ref in their that night, he would have been docked at least one point. It was gratuitous.

I actually stated that Molina's performance reminded me of Hopkins to some extent. Molina, like Hopkins and Ward, has an extremely high ring IQ.

He's not on their level talent wise or skill wise, but he's a smart fighter and he's mentally strong like them, too.

Had Molina gotten a couple of breaks his way (Chavez, Lara, Kirkland), he might be viewed in a far more favorable light overall, but his consistently good efforts against guys at a high level is often overlooked.

my sentiments exactly! Molina is a tough cookie and great at using what he has.....not much power, not much speed, not too strong but he's iron willed, he's got smarts in there, he can adapt and he's got heart that trumps the better skill sets of many fighters he faces. He's willing to do whatever it takes and can't help but like him for that....not his fault he's not as naturally gifted as many, he uses what he's got to the maximum potential and that's beyond commendable. A lot of more skilled fighters could really use his will.

    :good

And this is why I find it so easy to admire the way he is able to consistently perform at a high level against high caliber guys.

What he said...Molina will always be an underdawg but he will find ways to shutout his opponents offense and capitalize on any mistakes.

Exactly what I'm saying the whole time even before the fight. Molina has a similar style to Wards and very high ring IQ. He's far from his talent but he is probably the best fighter at 154 considering that he should have one win against Jr, he has draw with Lara beat Cintron and was on his way to beat Kirland. I'm pissed of with the DQ fight because as you said Molina is a class act and second because I lost a lot of v-cash

You give an example in which Hop a very big MW is fighting a WW. Obviously he was not going to hold that much. Molina was fighting a bigger man in Kirkland. Anyway he reminds me more of Ward he will get inside, brake his opponent game, wrestle him, push him back and wait for openings to punish him with short accurate shots. They both work the body Ward has a better jab and more talent as I stated.
