Linares stopped in 2 by unheralded Sergio Thompson!

Used to think this guy was a real one-to-watch.

Unfortunately it appears he's made of biscuits.

 

It really isn't an april fools. ****. Blokes got 20 ko's in 22 wins! Both his losses were SD and MD. I wonder if Linares knew much about him.

 

He was stopped on a cut but had just been dropped. Reminds me a bit of Errol Christie.

To be honest if I'm gonna get stopped by anyone, I'd like it to be by a guy with a cool name like Sergio Thompson.

I'm shocked he lost though. Just shows how a bad chin, slightly suspect defence and cutting easily can completely ruin a fighter.

 

Boxrec says DeMarco is fighting Thompson now. Is there any conformation of this? It's got to be a hard sell to a US network even with this result.

 

Linares has an awful defence. It usually consists of backing on to the ropes to eat more punches.

 

My favourite bit was when the dude sticks the Mandible Claw on Thompson as he's celebrating at 8:08

 

Think it was a final eliminater, so Thompson deserves his shot.

It's a shame Linares has dodgy whiskers.
