    Got there before me :good

There's a reason the genuine greats of boxing ended up broke. Not only did they often live lavish lifestyles but their purses were far more modest. You get to the top, you're earning over a hundred thousand a fight. UFC likes their boys out more regularly, so of you're amongst the best and you earn it you're not looking at poor career earnings at all. It's not like allfighters deserve to be millionaire's.

These are the top end boxing purses. I'm saying what I think would be more acceptable for someone fighting once a year. If a top UFC fighter gifts a few times a year plus sponsors they would be approaching the half-mil to a million mark (judging by the purses, which are always revealed nowadays) which is, by anyone's standards, none too shabby. This is before bonuses.

I like the fact fighters really have to earn it. PPV for Mayweather Vs Ortiz? Really? The hopes for these figures are what is crippling the sport, it's all 'I'm not getting paid enough to take this risk' more than ever before (or certainly seems it judging by the match making and less frequent fight schedules) although admittedly it is amplified by this information being more readily available and spreadable in the Internet age.

How much do you think thentop UFC stars should be earning then?

I happen to agree with what you are saying , by and large

I think a fighter who is earning his company good money , should himself be rewarded with good money , which is comparable to what the company are " netting "

Not to what they see fit to pay him based on there outside commitments

    No need for the`other`option I don`t think.

Ps. Pride was better than UFC at both their best.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I b'd like to add that it's actually shoot-wrestling that eventually led to actual MMA events or pancrase.
