looked good...against a weak opponent, lets hope he looks as good against a real contender. i sure hope so, he would bring some fresh old blood to the division, kessler moving up, ward playing hide and seek. good luck kelly
timing is still way off. he went the entire lopez fight and both of these rounds w/o getting the right had off. jaco was scared shitless and moving straight back and kelly didnt land a meaningful 1-2 down the pipe. but he looks like he's moving in the right direction mentally. seems like he's at least interested in what he's doing. on the bright side that lack of timing is making him use that left more in these last two fights than i've ever seen out of him.
Pavlik should fight Jaco-level opponents for the next 3-4 years before he tries to step it up again, no need to rush him.
Looked quicker and more comfortable than his previous outing, if he stays with Garcia and stays in California, I could see him making another run.
Jaco said he was impressed by Pavlik’s punching power. “Game plans are great until you get punched,” said Jaco, who resides in Sarasota, Fla. “I never felt power like that. He [Pavlik] is a great fighter and a great man. I don’t hate him and he doesn’t hate me. It was too much power for me to handle.”
****. California has had and has great boxers. Lots of good boxers move to California to train as well.
Pavlik looked good technically, he needs to work on his rhythm but then again he is on a lay off in a new system id say he is just fine thought he looked very good vs Lopez too im liking the left hook he used it vs Lopez and used it more this time he really didnt use the right hand all that much
Pavlik is back baby ! lol Seriously, I like what I've seen. Great left hook, mexican body shot and even an upercut. Pavlik was way too unidimensional with his 1-2 and his throwing of the double jab.
Maybe he simply didn't know or maybe he was just "testing" him to see how coherent he was. He was looking out for the guy at that point and was just making some small talk to see how he was.
