he looked to have better speed and importantly some bounce in his legs. hes still pulling back with very little head movement or pivot. hopefully that will come in time because i think hes got a few exciting fights to give

I also found he looked good yesterday. I know his opponent was not strong but his energy seemed to be pretty good. A good first step for his return. I think he's too old for a drastic change in his style but if he comes as healthy as possible, he'll be dangerous for anyone.

Your tolerance level is just going down. Liberal use of the ignore list and avoiding the troll threads when you aren't just looking for amusement goes a long way.:D

he would be a threat for ANYONE at 160 including martinez. I would love to see that rematch rather than watch martinez fight these lacklauster fighters(macklin/barker).

Glad he's fighting again, but God that was a terrible opponent, I probably could have beaten him.

Hopefully his next fight will at least be against a top 20 guy.

He didn't seem optimistic regarding making 160 in the questions he answered to the Scene.

yeah if he cant make 160 it will make things tougher but i still think he can get back to the top even at 168. I guess im just missing the days when he was top dog at 160 lol.

See the vid where he seems to be upset that Martinez may get Chavez before him. I think he is being coy, but that appears to still be the plan, 160 IF he can get there without draining the tank to do it. That's one of the reasons he will be back in the ring soon. No down time to gain weight.

With his height, reach and power, he should be snapping heads back with his jab and then lowering the boom with the right/left when they don't see it coming.

It's hard to get a read on Pavlik in a fight like this.

One dimensional american-level plodder beats no dimensional club fighter.

Pavlik gets schooled by macklin, barker, and jack daniels at this stage. One of the most overrated fighters of the past twenty years is Pavlik. and thats saying something the amount of american hypetrains there have been in that period.
