Try training correctly and your muscles won't tighten up.

I would guess that doing it one armed doesnt really make a whole lot of difference except balance and the fact that your grip is reduced a lot

strenght wise its the same body parts performing the lift

under or over with the hand ?

if its over hand which it would really have to be I imagine then its your grip thats limiting the amount of loaded weight

Yeah the grip is the only limiting factor. It's difficult to grip the bar dead middle as well, which works against your grip too.

Honestly, I'm starting to think bodyweight training is the way to go.

Don't get me wrong, I've been lifting weights for years and was able to put up big numbers on the three major lifts, especially for my size, but at some point I think your body is going to get ****ed up.

Think about it, you're putting anywhere from 3 to 5 hundred lbs on your back or lifting that much or even more from the ground if you deadlift it.

That **** cannot be good for your joints and cartlidge.

Whereby, bodyweight training actually helps strengthen joints and heal your body as well as making you strong.

    And you feel much better.

In contrast, think about all the old guys like Lou Ferrigno for instance who's gotten hip and knee replacements.

A lot of people will probably disagree...

    It is what it is.

    What are your thoughts?

I mean, there is all kinds of bull**** and contradicting articles on google, but I don't know which ones have correct information.

I"m assuming that the most popular website are the ones that come up first in a google search.

Most people don't want to hear any kind of negativity.

I don't know what the **** the truth is.

For those exercises I would also go with the dumbells, the kettlebells are great for sports specific work outs. Over all I do think kettlebells provide you with more efficient working out options and better results than just using dumbells, but for your purpose you might not really need them.

Kettlebells are just another silly fad. Like exercise balls. All you need is 2 dumbells, a barbell, some plates and a fukin bench and you can make things happen. Nobody these days want to believe working out is extremely simple and just requires consistency, and a decent diet supplying enough protein to repair/build muscle. That's it.
