Can Bute win a decision in Nottingham where Dirrell proved you can't?

    Discuss. The refs are worse than DC deducting points for 'holding' LOL.

    No. Bute will be more dominant and win a fair UD. And I'd assume they will have a worldwide set of judges, not just locals for safety.. Dirrell-Froch was close but I thought Dirrell won by like 115-113, 116-112 type margins.

    You dont win fights by running around the ring like a ***** and slipping on ur arse every time the action gets too intense

    Dirrell has picked Froch to beat Bute...

    In a close fight, Dirrell spent the majority of his time looking like he was desperately trying to avoid getting in a fight.

    The judging in the UK is, imo, better on the whole than it is in the US or Germany.

    I think that's more wishful thinking than anything else. To look good in comparison kind of thing.

    IMO, Bute-Froch will be one of those fights where "level of opposition" will end up being an invalid frame of reference to predict the winner between two fighters in their prime or just about.

    it pains me to say this but im picking bute on points but then again i could also see froch being given the decision if its close.

    and for the record it happens EVERYWHERE

    drozzy dirrell also picked AA to beat froch alot of british fighters and trainers are picking froch for this one, i just can't see it

    The gulf in level of opposition is just that big. Hometown advantage also factors in the minds of most. The only way I see Froch winning is by TKO after landing a couple of power rights - milliseconds following a Bute left landing on his head, i.e. catching Bute retreating (..and resetting) after a counter. Punch volume and timely aggression will be key for him. I don't see him winning on points...

    Larouche has been watching/studying Froch & Ward for a long time now. And the man's pretty underrated in boxing talk... just look at what he did with a limited fighter in Eric Lucas.


    I KNOW, I KNOW a Bute win by TKO/KO seems unlikely in the eyes of most, but man what an impact on the division / boxing world that would have. **** Showtime for not taking this.
