Why do Americans never support their own in boxing?

Because we want fighters that appeal to American values like working hard, being humble, and always being the best.

Then we get someone who works hard and is humble but he's not the best. Or is humble and the best and works hard but we call him boring.

Then we get someone who's the best and works hard but he's not humble so we hate him.

But really, I do support our fighters because we don't have many left. We only get 3-4 with star potential every few years and onle 1-2 of them will pan out.

because boxing is not as popular as it once was in america. most of our fighters mainly just get support from their home town/state.

    and americas racist

WHat are you talking about, All Americans? White Black Mex etc.

    or one kind specifically...

Because Black people don't really follow Boxing, they are more into Basketball and Football, the few black people here are a minority...

Mexicans pay the bill in American Boxing... that's why they always cater to us

The OP is "close" to him, and cares A LOT about him making a meaningful comeback.

i'm American... give me a hard working boxer who doesn't need to talk bigger than his actual achievements.... who's willing to actually fight and I'll support him.
Seth Mitchell might not have all of the talent in the world - but I'll support him.

But most American boxers do so much **** talking that I start to root against them.
And couple the loud mouth with the 'cute'sy' fighting style and I could really give a **** then.

    - or maybe most Americans are tired of this gang-crack-bling-foodstamp attitude from black boxers.

Your assumption is wrong but what is wrong with not using patriotism as your means of following the boxer of your choice? You sound like a Brit.
