He's got no layers or depth. It's just the same, admittedly pleasing, style that will come unstuck and has come unstuck against guys that can deal with it and raise the tempo. Linares just comes apart at the seams when that happens.
Wasn't aware of this matchup and I know its easy to say in hindsight, but I'm really not sure I would have matched Linares against this guy before an important fight. Ridiculous really, the guy had 20 knockouts in 22 wins and had never been stopped or clearly beaten, and even against suspect opposition that ought to tell you the guy is at least semi-dangerous so why would you put an egg chinned no defense fighter like Linares in that fight? Quite strange, but really just shows Linares doesn't quite have the substance to match some of the style.
Talk about misplaced joy............ Surely if all that's changing is that Thompson is in for Linares then they'll keep Teremoto on the card?:think :think Hmm, if he stays at 130 for the foreseeable future I'm not sure if we can pull that off. I still have faith in my own personal vendetta against Moreno, albeit it's now threadbare.
remember when he got battered by demarco laz made a thread on how linares was the second coming of Ray Robinson even after getting beat, strange bloke him
Apparently it took 24 stitches and you could see the bone (least thats what was said by Rafael according to the Scene)
Nothing wrong with a bit of aesthetic pleasure :hooters I hate to say it, but it looked like Linares wanted to quit.
that ****ing low left hand when he was jabbing and didn't expect anything coming back. that right hand that caught him in the 2nd round was unbelievable. DO SOMETHING. don't cover up and then wait for it to go away land back. he reminds me of computer game fighter like in fight night. just walks in and throws combinations. while looking well formed. then get bullied by anybody who wants to take the fight to him. im sure some fighters where worried about him when he showed good technical skills in the ring and could cover up and able to move out of range simple enough. and especially for a guy that tall. he just seemed to have a depth that wasnt seen. then when guys...i mean demarco is alright but he is just a solid lanky fighter started pelting him when he walked in...wasnt worried at all. just go for him. he will melt soon enough. anyways this guy thompson might be somebody to watch. like ola after chining enzo (or the guy who knocked out eric fields)
